P14 and P16 with S312 and XR550 on 9083 & 9086 SSR Transfers- 6/8/24

Six weeks in a row now the SSR Bendigo transfers have featured P14 and P16, usually by themselves hauling a couple of wagons and occasionally with another loco or two along for company. Such was the case on August 6th with another Tuesday run of the 9083/9086 transfers, the P's running up by themselves on 9083 with a BGKF and the two BQEW's before returning in the middle of S312 and XR550 hauling a BQGX and BQPX on 9086.
Trains seen in order are:
9083- P16 and P14
9086- S312, P14, P16 and XR550

"Bendigo Terminal Station" you had me there Brad, was thinking of the train station, in NSW they are called Electric Sub-Stations, silly old me. Very vocal "S" class too, little "P" class earn their keep.😉

That's what Google Maps calls it, I was just going to go with 'substation'! Been a while since I'd got an SSR S leading something so was good to get it.

Hi. Why do they keep on going to and from Bendigo to Melb. Are they shifting goods or are locos going there for servicing? Thanks

SSR's Victorian workshops is located in Bendigo, so anything that can't be done 'out the back of a truck' (so to speak) in Melbourne has to be bought up here to get a look over. Usually done weekly but sometimes more sometimes less.
