I just mount new pump on my CC yesterday. Now warning light keep coming back more than it was with previous pump. When just mounted no errors. Since this morning every engine start shows again
Does this pump b cause overheating coz my car has been overheating and this code came up on my obd2 check … not sure if it’s this to change or water pump ??
No I don’t think so. This pump circulates the coolant after the engine is switched off to prevent hotspots etc. I’d say you’ve either got no coolant in your heater pipes or your fan is knackered. Check coolant level first then see if your heater pipes are getting warm to isolate the problem
Hello, my golf 6 1.6 tdi is on limp mode because of an engine fault. I diagnosed the car and two faults appeared. They are: p261c00 and p261b00. Obviously they are related to the coolant pump B. My question is does it make any noise or not? Because I didnt notice anything unusual before this engine failure came up. My car goes slowly on rpms it doesnt respond as it should. What do you think I should do? Replace the fuse first?
I’d connect VCDS and command it on then do a voltage check. I’ve never heard mine. The fault may be coming up due to the resistance/voltage being out of parameters. Essentially get it on a computer or fire the parts cannon at it.
great help thank you! just bought my first caddy. connector to this pump had been severed. previous owner drove the vehicle around like that. Are there any damaging effects from this?
I believe the pump stops localised hot spots once the engine has been switched off. It keeps the coolant flowing until the engine is at a point where no heat damage can occur. This is completely opinion based and not fact though.
Cheers mate. For the majority it self bled. All I did was top up, heater on full and went for a drive. It seemed to sort its self out as it cooled. Think I topped up twice after.
@@ddrepairs good day, what was your car doing before you changed the pump, the glow flashes and the car has no power and sometimes it runs on 4 and sometimes not on 3 cylinders
Good video, I have the same issue I changed the coolant pump b but the EML is still showing for the same issue? The code is P261A00. I also have P069100 code showing cooling fan 1 control circuit low? Can you help?

Hi quick question I’m having issues with my 2009 golf Tdi. I’m losing coolant rapidly I have had water pump and belt changed and new expansion tank. It does not seem to lose coolant while running but once we switch the engine off and leave over night we lose loads would this part be the problem? Thanks
So assuming there’s no visible leaks, there’s only a few places the coolant could go and the aux pump hasn’t got anything to do with them. Check oil isn’t milky. This would indicate head gasket or oil cooler issue. Other place could be the EGr cooler at the back of the engine. If it’s failed internally, coolant could be passing out the exhaust. I’d recommend a pressure test to confirm. Also head gasket could be gone but again a sniff or pressure test should ID which it is.
