Up until the "this local machine" it kept saying "unable to obtain hardware information for this selected machine". Can you please help me? I can't fix this and I need to get this done for a class assignment by October 23.

I'm trying to virtualize my current machine in order to format it and start over clean, but when I boot the new vmx with VMWare Player, windows detects changes, restarts, and everything is sloooow, it can take minutes to react to anything. Sometimes it works for a little while, but I usually end up with a black screen and the phisical disk running at 100% but with very slow read/write speeds. I don't know what to do. Does anybody have a clue
