GP layout this time for TNL round 9 and what a lovely warm sunny evening!
Qualy/Practice was straightforward getting the kart and tyres warmed up, understeer was quite prominent into T8 which was costing me time all the way down the straight into Vale. Managed to set the 4th fastest time of a 52.296.
Race start was not the best, got off the line reasonably well but I couldn't take the inside line around vale which resulted in me being pushed out wide and having to hang it around the outside of T2. By the time I navigated T3 the front 3 were already a fair distance ahead. I managed to hold Alfie behid for a bit but he eventually got past and opened up a gap. The next phase of the race was just to keep my head down and work to try and catch the front 4, with hopefully some good fortune to help as their pace was a bit quicker than I could manage. Luckily they all started to battle for position which allowed me to catch up and join in. I managed to work my way up to 3rd and was challenging Dan for P2 on the last lap, but I couldn't manage to stay ahead out of T3.
A good result for the championship taking P3 and keeping the battle going with Luka. I won't be competing at round 10 so it will all come down to rounds 11 and 12 to see if I can catch and overtake Luka in the championship.
