Still blows my mind listening to someone I used to raid with absolutely blowing up. My dude, these guides are INCREDIBLE. You're doing such a great job for the community. Much love - Jake Mitchole.
@@manbeard8678 It's spooky, but no it's not absolute kill dmg. You might die if there's no mitigation, but if there are some (like AST neutral, WHM wings, shields, dps self mitigation) then it's easily survivable.
I started late this tier and thanks to your guides I was able to Clear P5s and P6s with in my first week let’s see if I can make p7s in the same week !
Really nice guides Hector. I like the animated style you do. Just one thing, war`s harvest can spawn the minotaurs both next to the bull, so your rule to start there and both birds go to the other platform won`t be consistent there but it should resolve easily as well. I actually like the strat with both birds going to the opposite bridge, bc its easy to remember and you dont need to preposition. Same goes for the bull tethers. Only the Mino tethers need to go to different platforms but with birds on the bridges it`s much space. Keep up the really nice work with those guides!
Are you sure it's even possible for both minotaurs to spawn next to the bull? I've checked over 40 different POVs, and none of them had the pattern you described on war's harvest.
Why is War's Harvest done like this? Can't you just aim each individual mechanic outwards and not have to do any thinking? You'd probably get better uptime that way too - seems like R1 and M1 can get out of melee at the moment. If they all aim outwards, R1 can cheat around to the right side and stay in melee while M1, M2, and R2 all stay inside the boss' hitbox.
War's harvest: North Minotaur ---- platform C -- West Bridge Minotaur ---- platform B -- NE behind Bird A ----- Bridge SE mid Bird C ----- platform C -- East like R1 in the video Teathered group ---- spread at platform A cant post raidplan. YT flags it
It very much depends on what tank you are and what busters end up as condensed. The first two TBs are early enough that any tank could invuln it and get it back for Death, but PLD won't have it back in time if they use it on the 3rd TB, and only WAR can use it on the 4th TB and get it back in time.
Hey, im rlly a bit confused about the sleep strtat in this guide :x shouldnt be one of the healers at the edge at 20:07 (cuz healers has 2nd stackmarker) ?
In case you wanted to know, the "bulls" are from a side quest in Elpis. It's called an Io, and it was created by one of the researchers there in an attempt to make the ultimate apex predator. Long story short, he asks our WoL for advice on changes to make to it, and the final product ends up being a Behemoth. So basically, they're proto-behemoths.
That side quest was great, the researcher just casually dropping that it gave it Charybdis and Meteor, as you stand there realizing what the fuck you just caused.
This timing is brilliant, just recently cleared P5 and 6 thanks to your amazing guides. Thank you for taking the time to make them so detailed, they’ve been a godsend in prog to understand all the mechanics so thank you so much!
Thanks for the guide. I've really been struggling this raid tier with the color choices used for the debuffs due to color blindness so it's extremely helpful to be able to see the debuff icons ahead of time so I know what I should look for instead. Thank you!
Bless. I just finished 6 last night and was dying because no 7 this morning to glance over. Thank you so much for your guides! They've been a great help!!
My static is new, and we are clearing because of your guides. THANK YOU! I'm the shot caller for our group, so I've been spending a couple of hours per fight taking detailed + condensed notes to reference based on your videos. You are awesome!
I find the fight really easy with this guide and braindead overall but good god is PF at it again with wanting to do overly-complicated strats for the harvests that don't even result in a massive DPS gain or loss. Especially Death's, they want to do a Japanese strat that involves rotating the camera and using fixed positions but when I see the tanks do it they get a damage down for seemingly no reason when just going to the side opposite the E/W fruit spawn for the middle bull is super simple and easy to execute. Just came out of 10 hours straight trying to clear and we were hitting enrage consistently to begin with, lost someone and it all went downhill from there. One healer that joined tried to bitch out our tank for having less than optimal gear saying that they refused to heal her even though she wasn't dying at all in said enrage runs. The kicker is that they did so when we started the instance before a single run was attempted. Parsers are a different breed I guess.
By far the best ff14 raid guides out there, amazing work my man. Too bad already did all my p7s prog yesterday! Oh well at least this should help for pf clear today!
i think there's a mistake in the guide for famine's harvest, but it's 2am and i might just be confused after smashing my head against this fight for several hours - in the snapshot at 23:27 where all the mechanics of famine's harvest are going off, it appears that the minotaur conal cleaves are originating from each player who has the tether, rather than the minotaurs themselves towards the tethered players. i think that's a key distinction (especially in the guide, visually) because, for example, the minotaur next to R2, which is cleaving towards M1 is actually pointing its cleave a few more degrees clockwise than depicted (since the point of origin is the minotaur, not R2). this can kill M2, who is likely going to get clipped by the edge of that cleave and take double the cleave damage. just wanted to let you know as that tripped me up a bit in figuring out why some people were dying during famine despite stretching their tethers out and seemingly being in the correct positions per your guide. as always, amazing work with the video, thank you for explaining everything SO clearly and getting us these videos at lightning speed, you are the best!
*the minotaur next to R2, which is cleaving towards M1 is actually pointing its cleave a few more degrees COUNTER-clockwise than depicted (since the point of origin is the minotaur, not R2). apologies, exhausted raider brainrot
Doing this fight currently with my group, these guides are a godsend, i do wish p6s enrage was her just destroying the arena and we plummet to our deaths
pog strats as usual, but i also really love your animations for this one. the lil player circles actually do "hop" in the air when the platforms are created! it's so cute
I would recommend at least showing the stretch tether strat for war in a follow up, where everyone just goes to the absolute max distance and lightning tethers spread on the far bridge and the edge of the platforms on either side
So, the three harvest mechanics are named after 3 of the "4" horsemen of the apocalypse. (Famine, War, Conquest, Death, though Conquest has been dropped in recent times for Pestilence).
thank you so much for making these visual guides, my static has always had issues learning mechanics but your videos have made it so much easier on us!!
A little tip of something I noticed, and at this point I think is always true, but Famine's Harvest's 2fruit platform seems to always be one of the north ones. I tend to go to the north bridge and pick a platform to stare at (NW), then go to either it or NE depending on what I see.
21:00 um hector i acrually prefer sleepo purg and i thought it was kind of interesting where someone in aether party finder (lyle freerider, catuar) decided to put up ILLEGAL: markers.
There is an easier strat for the War Harvest. The general gist of it is, just go opposite of what is tethered to you. So if it's on a plattform you would make your way to the opposing bridge and if it's on a bridge you'd go to the opposing plattform.
yep this is a great strat and seems easy in PF -- the big caveat is that the N-S minotaur player should be careful to *bisect* the adjacent yak and bird players since the cleave comes close to both of them (i.e. usually that player should rotate their minotaur tether a *little bit* CCW, but not much) alternatively, if the NW bird player is aware that they're the NW bird player, they can simply choose to stay on the NW platform and point outward -- but this isn't necessary
i like how the strat maker name is sleepo, i mean the entire fight looks very boring that it almost make me fall asleep. hopefully i clear this soon, cope hard but ya, sleepo version is better, very brilliant that everyone are going together left right left right
An easy way to recognize the bird/tower safespots if you're in PF: tower safe spot is always on the 3 vertical lines on the floor on your tower, while the bird bait is always on base (where there's a gap in the motif) of the big flowery/moth decoration on the floor adjacent to the tower opposite your bird.
Your guides are great, much better than any other youtube guide and the only ones I prefer over just looking at toolboxes. However i regretfully have to tell you that I can't unhear you sounding exactly like a mix of Ben Shapiro and Howard Hamlin.
Great guide, huge help. The Fruit 5 method isn't 100% foolproof, since you don't always get exactly 1 tower in every quadrant. We solve this by priority where clockwise from 12, NE quadrant takes the first tower, SE quadrant takes the 2nd, etc.
Very great and wonderful guide as always. May I ask what's your thought on Tanks Invul Death's Harvest strat? I did it with JP PF and it works very well. (and braindead)
I haven't had a chance to try that strat yet. Given how much tank damage there is throughout the fight, I'm hesitant to give up the easier tankbusters to make DH easier, but the idea of fixed positions is definitely a winner.
@@HectorHectorson I have some experience in JP PF using the DH strat as you describe, the most problem I met is the position is not fixed. For example in the video the NW platform , MT OT H2 is on the North side of platform, and the NE platform, you need 2 DPS to the south side. The PF using this strat sometimes emphasis that it's "bird relative spread" but ppl sometimes just go the the same spot and clip each other. (Just in my PF experience, I only did 5 PF for this strat so maybe it's not very objective. And the DPS check is tight in week 1 for PF and if you mess up in the DH it feels like wasting 9 mins, very frustrating ;w;)
Hmm, YT is momentarily killing any reply with any semblance of a link to strats / pictures. Great guide, though for war's harvest there is an easy fully symmetric setup - although I'm not sure if it works in practice (had no chance to try it yet).
I find it easiest to figure out the spread/stack debuffs by just looking exclusively at my debuffs. If I have spread 1, then I know I'm stack 2. Spread 2 means I'll stack first.
these guides make it so easy to learn the fight and how you explain things makes me be able to understand what is going on even if i need to look back i have a general idea of what to expect
Hi Hector, have you considered sharing any of the assets you use? I make diagrams to quickly refence for my raid and it would be very helpful to use some the assets you use in your videos (for example, the different fruits.) Thanks!
In Meteor DC, for the stack/spread strat...the norm seems to be have the stack placed in front of the bridges, and the rest adjust accordingly. I hate this strat
Hector I hope you're currently working on P8S guide! There are resources out there but yours have been really good this tier. Thanks for the efforts and help!!!
Our group feels like there has to be a better strat for War's Harvest that lets you break the minotaur tether. I wonder what the devs intended strat was...
There is a static position (everyone always stands in the same spot relative to the yak) Death's Harvest that uses up the two tank invulns but is extremely simple to execute. I'd recommend doing that one instead since tank invulns on the busters in this fight aren't really that useful thanks to the bleeds.
@@Laucher- I did on my pug clear successfully every single time, the positioning isn't precise at all. You'd have to Google it since I don't think YT allows links in comments
I discourage everyone from doing War's Harvest like suggested in this video (or "inu strat" too). A healer absolutely cannot survive the minotaur tethers like this unless they happen to get a single-target shield with a crit and tons of mitigation. Full HP, a non-crit single-target shield + AoE mitigation was NOT enough to survive this (at ilvl 616), consistently. Only a tank or maybe a melee DPS might be able to. It's unlikely your shield healer will be able to hand out single-target shields (and crit, for that matter) at that point due to mechanics happening. So surviving this mechanic comes down to either being lucky that only tanks get minos or sacrificing 1-2 players to minotaurs. 😨*cries in shield healer and everyone wanting to do this on pf*
both strats were done in week 1 with ilvl 610 gear and has been the gold standard in jp pf pub reclears. if you died, you probably weren't stretching the tether right to the edge since it does proximity damage or got clipped by something else
@@firmsteak4458 I realize this strat has been established by now but eu pf really struggles with this 😂 People are stuck at that point ever since but they stick to it since, appearently, it can, no, it HAS to work and someone must have made a mistake if they died so they're to blame. I don't get it though. Why not just do the braindead (and very safe) "pull the tether through the center" strat (aka cross/oppo war)? I just tried to speak up to make it easier for people.
