@@kenaultman7499 Yea, if they made me an honorary cop for a month, I would bring in a lot of $ to their jurisdictions ticketing these idiots and enjoy every minute of it.
@JEFFREY INSENBERG I would strictly enforce two things in particular: camping in the left lane and following too close. First one? Highly probable ticket. Second one? Definite ticket
Cops don't get to choose what they enforce cops and force what their superiors tell them to enforce and it changes day to day. Traffic enforcement is based on 2 things alone. Public outcry regarding a specific area and statistical dangers in a specific zone. When cops enforce what they want, they get reprimanded. When this happens repeatedly, they get in trouble. It is important to remember that cops don't know the law I've been awarded. 4 ride alongs. All 4 ride alongs were independently winning the same individual bet repeatedly. Because cops do not know lane usage law cops do not know The law, otherwise they would not take a job where they get Shut up and get their a**** kicked. Cops don't know the law cops don't know law. They enforce what they're told to enforce as they're told to enforce it, but they do not know law. And they do not know lane usage law.. Your state, whatever your state is does have a right lane law. Because there's a federal mandate that each state has to. So I know for sure beyond the shadow of the doubt that your state does have a right lane except while passing law, regardless of what other laws you've recently passed To try to fix this problem that is already on the books yet already ignored. Florida just passed a new lane usage law even though we have the federal mandate and 3 other right lane. Except while passing laws, our lawmakers and citizens are too ignorant. So we've passed a fourth, no camping in the left lane law.. Most other states have done it just as Ignorantly
Got another left lane hog. If he didn't get the idea with the trooper on his ass and nobody on his right after passing a vehicle, then he deserved a ticket
I will make it clear right away that I am not defending the person that was pulled over. One thing i cant stand is people who camp out in the left lane. I take it so seriously that i am embarrassed to be passed on the right. There was a suv in front of the guy to begin with. After the suv changed to the middle lane, the person that was pulled over sped up quite a bit. I am not quite sure if they were pulled over for camping or not, maybe it was for their speed.
@@obxjeepguy That would certainly wake you up if they had that here. The suspension seems a little extreme, but I wouldn't object to it as it would go a long way to solving the problem.
Im not sure what is wrong with our state especially on the turnpike, but they have the mentality that im doing the speed limit so I can be in the left lane, which is obviously not true.
What? Turnpike? you mean Florida? You mean somebody be aware of FL 316.086 (2) drive in the rightmost lane except while passing? No that doesn't work in Florida because Florida's like other states where people feel that as long as they obey the speed limit that gives them some right to ignore other laws like proper legal lane usage.
We need to stop people from having the idea that a "fast lane" exists in the US. I've heard more people call it that than what it actually is. Which is, THE PASSING LANE. Are you passing someone? No? OK, gtfo of the left lane. You're breaking the law.
Yeah, I just don't get it. How often do you see some moron camping in the left lane with cars stacked up behind him. I know it isn't right, but you end up passing them on the right, then cutting them off to get in front of them.. Me personally, I hate being tailgated and do everything I can to get out of the way. But these folks just "sit there", while others are flashing/honking and cutting them off, must be in their own little bubble of a world. I just don't get it.... Drive right except when passing
The government will do public service announcements on how danger speed is but they make no attempt to bring people into the light on this issue. The Kentucky drivers manual has the entire section explaining why you pass on the left and then merge back to the right. It is absolutely astounding the number of people on the road who have absolutely no clue how this rule works.
Probably bc many of us don't read the manual. I'll learned most of my driving from my father and the first thing he told me when i first drove on the highway was don't camp the left lane
In my opinion this is the biggest problem with traffic in bigger cities. If people would let the left lane express folks through, there wouldn't be so many crazy traffic jumping fools! = accidents and traffic jams!
Time to add more lanes, oh no that doesn't work and it makes roads even more congested & deadly just like DuSable Lake Shore Drive in Chicago, which is why Germany's Bundesautobahns don't have more than four lanes for each direction (three lanes or less per direction in rural areas), I'm now getting started on Houston, USA and Toronto, Canada. About Houston & Toronto which both are very diverse, immigrants are being lied to about how Canada & USA are great when Europe which has both more total area & land area than Canada but less GDP than USA is actually better at everything including work times, healthcare, public transit, driving experience, walkability, cyclability, crime rate, etc (unless you live in Eastern Europe, France, The British Isles, or Sweden). This is the reason both Houston & Toronto have the widest & most ridiculous motorways (US Interstate 10 in Houston & Ontario Highway 401 in Toronto respectively), it's because immigrants are being exploited by being inclusively permitted to live a bad lifestyle of crime, traffic congestion, ugly cities, all while not even knowing it because it's easy to whine that you can't move to Europe because you can't speak a language (I saw someone say that on Quora that they tried to apply for a Danish passport but got denied because they can't speak Danish. LINK: quora.com/Which-is-the-best-country-to-live-in-Germany-or-Canada/answer/YJ-W-1-1?comment_id=292300284&comment_type=2 ). This is written by a second-gen Canadian teenager & car guy who lives in the Greater Toronto Area and wants to move to Germany in a decade (I already said that in previous comments, also I'll visit Canada again afterwards for the country to improve).
@@Mart_7512Germany has good lane discipline and better driver training than the USA. Thats why the Autonahn has less traffci jams. American drivers need to be educated about this.
I drove 3 hours to BNA airport on I-40 yesterday in the rain and had to deal with the left lane hogs constantly. Every time traffic would back up it was because pokey people in the left lane. Sometimes it's a semi trying to pass another semi and he just doesn't have the power to do it, so, 4 miles down the road he decides to get back in the right lane. Thanks Pal.
I keep on telling people.. Driving in the left lane, regardless of speed and not pasing people IS AGAINST THE LAW. Its NOT OK as per (any State I know of) driving rules/laws. People from Georgia will fight you on this.
N. Carolina drivers are also full of left lane hogs. Then they give you the finger when you pass them on the right. I despise going through that state on my way to Myrtle Beach.
@@jeffreyisenberg830 That's how I know I'm doing it right.. if I pass a (left) lane hog on the right and they give me the finger. PA drivers do that too. Also NY.. I genuinely want to know where they learn that. It is not taught in MVC instruction. Driving seems to bring out who you really are... It is a weak and confrontational individual that would flip you off for passing them on a public road. Think about it........
@@82_KID US of A has extremely poor driver education. They give driver's licenses to semi-illiterate people who are unable to add two numbers together.
It isn’t always because troopers care about enforcement of that law. They have to cover huge distances and they need to pass vehicles in order to look for evidence of crimes (i.e. human and drug trafficking). In general, don’t jam up first responders. It’s indicative of how bad the psychology of the left lane camper really is that they would even do this. Don’t do it to anybody, really, but especially not this.
I remember once I was in the left lane (not camping, but passing a long line of slower cars) and a cop came racing up behind me, lights flashing, sirens blaring. I pulled ahead of him as fast as I could, then got over to the right as soon as I could. I looked to the left as he was passing me, and there’s this cop with a big grin on his face flashing me a thumbs-up!
@@ksb2112 It's none of your fricking business. Are you a cop? Maybe I need to pee and have to get to the nearest gas station/service area ASAP. Maybe I am taking my pregnant wife to the hospital and her waters just broke. Again it's none of your fricking business. I hate left lane hogs.
@@ksb2112Blocking the passing lane is more dangerous than that person speeding. There are legitimate reasons to speed when passing - for example, to get out of the blind spots of a truck. It's not your job to play law enforcement, it's yours to obey the law and keep right except when passing.
Did you watch the video? I was faster moving traffic. While in the middle lane, I passed two vehicles that were in the right lane and then I transitioned to the right lane once clear of the slower moving traffic.
Typically the far right lane is trash like rumble strip bad, if there’s only two I’ll drive through shit but I’m aware enough to chill in middle and move if needed
Drivers love love love that second lane. They are drawn to it like a moth to a flame, leaving the right lane mostly empty. I can't explain it, its just some kind of driver instinct.
One of the rare occasions where I will applaud cop behavior. I guarantee you the first thing out of that person's mouth when the cop explained why they were pulled over is, "I wasn't speeding though!"
"But officer, I was doing the speed limit!" "Gee officer, I didn't know the left lane was only for passing!" "I wasn't able to move over!" Etc. etc. etc. Jail time, please!
I live in Florida and it's absolutely horrible I wish the state troopers and the local police would pull people over in the left lane and most of the time they're on their phone it's absolutely crazy and I'm on the Southwest coast
@@ijxrxmy That's possible but he already knew his speed by following him for some time. Could have been the cop wanted it on radar, also, as an extra point in his favor if it went to court.
@@ruslanb6296 if they drove in unmarked plain jane dodge chargers, ford ppv's etc this shit would rarely happen! states would make alot of money from these douchbags!
It is not legal in any state to drive out of the right most lane except while you are passing. It is not safe anywhere to drive the same speed as a car right next to you or to impede faster traffic. The faster other traffic is going, the more dangerous you being an obstacle to that moving object.
In California, it IS legal to drive in the left lane. It is a separate violation to drive so slowly as to obstruct the normal flow of traffic. Most Californians will exit the lane out of courtesy if someone faster comes up behind them, though.
“But I’m doing the speed limit,” said the uneducated motorist. Ya see, my friends, the speed limit has nothing to do with left lane laws. Your NUMERICAL speed is quite irrelevant. It is your RELATIVE speed that gets you the ticket. The signs refer to SLOWER traffic. This is a relative determination, not a numerical one.
in PA, troopers keep their radar guns off until they're ready to use them. It keeps them hidden from radar detectors. When I cross over the river into NJ, where they keep them on all the time, I can pick them up from so far away.
Would it be alright with you Mr.Duffy to use this clip in an educational video about accidents and road safety on my channel? Credit, links in the description, and name on the screen, as always will be provided.Look forward to your response.
No, the cop was just mad because he could not go 90 miles an hour. And why was he tailgating when tail? Gatty is a criminal offense. If I in my big truck get too close to somebody. They give me a ticket, but yet they do nothing to stop. Stop cars from getting 6 feet off my bumper. Or they do not even back off themselves.
That was 3 yrs ago , the English driving habits can get overwhelming , it's real bad here , everyone does this , trucks, cars , bikes, ambulances , fire trucks ( when not on call just patrolling) and the local police too .
Enforcing freedom and manners, good luck ppl would have to have the ability to care before this will ever end. Vehicles are capable of never obstructing freedom, humans are not.
It's actually not illegal to camp the left lane on a 3 lane but still it's annoying asfk. Car got pulled over for speeding which is why dudes radar detector went off right before
PA Title 75 from the General Assembly states, " Driving on right side of roadway. (a) General rule.--Upon all roadways of sufficient width, a vehicle shall be driven upon the right half of the roadway except as follows: (1) When overtaking and passing another vehicle proceeding in the same direction where permitted by the rules governing such movement.
In Michigan it’s legal to cruise in the left lane of a highway has three or more lanes. However, if you don’t yield right to faster moving vehicles, it’s impeding traffic
As long as you're not speeding it is allowed, at least in my state. I hope it's legal everywhere as I do it regularly when approaching left lane hogs and never got pulled over for doing it.
@@jeffreyisenberg830 in quebec it's illegal i think it should also so people start flashing the hell out of left lane hogs and honking at them then reporting them to law enforcement
It is not illegal to pass on the right, but it is illegal to cause people to pass on the right. It is dangerous to pass on the right and should be avoided whenever possible.. The dangerous thing is to ride beside another vehicle. While you're beside another vehicle, you're in as much danger as if you're tailgating that vehicle. If you're tailgating, they hit their brakes, you can hit your brakes, but if you're beside someone when they move in your lane, there's not often a place to go.. The law is driving the rut most laying except while passing and do not impede. One of my driving instructurs often said, To be safe and legal always drive faster than traffic to your right and slower than traffic to your left.
