PAC-MAN in SUPER SMASH BROS : Black Nerd 

Whoa! Some of you are telling me that Pac-Land JUST got released on Wii U Virtual Console! Is this true???

This is more than a game, this is a piece of Gaming History.

I was born in 1985. I'm a late 80's/all the 90's child. I grew up with the Sega/Nintendo war. I grew up with Sega and I love Sonic, and I also played in the arcade a lot, so I love Pac-Man, too. And while I never played a lot of Mega Man games, I like him, too. Seeing them in this game is pretty darn amazing. My younger self would have thought this would happen.

Bayonetta. If Snake could be a Smash fighter, so can Bayonetta.

We almost put PacMan in our Smash video last year, just guessing he'd make it in the game. Now we'll have to do a sequel an include him this time! Great video, Andre!

I was actually one of the people who was adamantly AGAINST Pac-Man's inclusion before the reveal. I thought he wouldn't work, he wouldn't fit, and he wouldn't really represent Namco's current image. I would have preferred ANY other Namco character. Kite, Kilik, Leo, Lloyd, Luke Fon Fabre, Dig Dug, Mr. Driller, ANYONE. And then I saw the trailer, and the little guy charmed the heck out of me. He makes the classic Namco sound effects, he uses stff from other Namco games... He does his little wink and thumbs up and I just... I didn't care. I love those other Namco characters. Namco is probably my second favorite game company. I would have LOST MY HEAD for Leo or Kite, but... I've been converted. I love Pac-Man in Smash.

When I watched the original video and saw him plop down the Fire Hydrant I thought, "Wait, wait, what? The Fire Hydrant from Pac-Land?" I felt really proud to notice it. I personally love Ghostly Adventure's style, but I love the conglomeration of all of his iterations. #retrogamerrepresent

I am SO glad they did NOT use his Ghostly Adventures design. I mean I mainly remember his design here from Pac-Man World so that's what I claim it as. That being said, I'm glad his World design is being used for this

Plus if you want to play a fighter with a small, disappointing roster, you can play PS All Stars anytime you want. Lol

Pac man fever is alive and well

I'm just glad Pac-Man has a Galaga attack, or was that an assist trophy? Either way, glad Galaga is making some kind of appearance too 'cause that was the first video game I ever played.

I don't understand why Pac-Man is getting so much hate. He's iconic. He's one of the most famous and important characters in gaming. It makes perfect sense that he'd be a character. I'm really glad they incorporated his classic form and the ghosts into his move set.

My first console was the Gameboy Color, and the gamecube, but I'm still extremely excited that 4 major retro characters are coming together!

Andre, I'd like to share something... I may only be 17, but I've had so many fond memories of Pac-Man throughout my life (so far) that you guys have no idea how much this announcement means to me (on top of the fact that we'll be seeing Mario, Sonic, Pac-Man, and Mega Man all duking it out with each other). I was first introduced to the franchise via a Ms. Pac-Man machine in a bowling alley (That was apparently struck by a hurricane eventually). I'm not sure which followed what, but later on I found myself with some Namco Museums, Pac-Man Collection for the GBA, and then the GBA port of Pac-Man World. Things got better and better when I got Pac-Man Adventures in Time for the PC, and when I also received Pac-Man World 2 for my birthday a following year. The latter became one of my favorite (not-Mario) 3D platformers to this day. In 3rd grade, I got Pac-Man World 3 for the Gamecube, which while not as good as the second, was still very fun in its own right. Of course, all these games kept piling up in front of me, and I've been loving most of them, and have played some of the more obscure games like Super Pac-Man, Pac-Land, Jr. Pac-Man, etc. And now in these recent years, things didn't feel quite right. Nobody ever seemed to acknowledge any of the Pac-Man games other than the arcade originals (Pac & Ms.). Worse, the Pac-Man & The Ghostly Adventures show is a generic kids cartoon set in a completely different setting compared to the World games. And the show was followed by a bad tie-in video game. With Namco helping make the new Smash Bros, it seemed like all hope was lost for me to see Pac-Man become awesome again.... And then last night happened... Words cannot describe how overwhelmed and excited I was! I've waited my whole life for a crossover like this to happen, and there's no better game to do this than with SMASH BROS!!! AND it's THE Pac-Man look, and not Ghostly Adventures! I'm seriously psyched! :D I also really hope you guys check out some of the Pac-Man games I've mentioned, if you have happened to miss out on these greats!

You forgot to mention Mr.Game and Watch at the end of the trailer, he is also a classic!

You can really here the genuine happiness and emotion behind his voice as he talks about it. This is what a love about old school fans it's seems the new ones don't have as much of an emotional connection like the old school fans do

I'm still a little worried about Meta Knight not returning, but my god this is turning out to be the most epic Smash roster ever.

Aside from the rumors (Shulk, Chrom, Chorus Men/Rhythm Heaven) and returning veterans (Capt Falcon, Wario, Ice Climbers, Ness, G&W, Falco/Wolf, Ganon, Jigglypuff, R.O.B, & Meta Knight) There are several possibilities including: Mewtwo (Sakurai actually admitted to considering adding Mewtwo again because of his latest popularity boost), Bayonetta (Both games published by Nintendo now, as well she has Nintendo outfits in Bayonetta 2) King K. Rool (Donkey Kong) Roy (Fire Emblem, he's probably second most requested to return from the Melee cut, plus FE only has two reps so far, so 2 more wouldn't hurt)

If we were to go back and tell our 10 year old selves that Sonic, Mario, Mega Man and PAC MAN would fight in a video game our little minds will blow. I'm so happy that Sonic and Mega Man are both in. Nice to see some one other than me appreciate not just the fact that Pac-Man is in smash, but also his history and also thinks he fits in with the rest of the roster of characters as well. I'm also super happy Pac-Man has made it as well.

Man, I'm just as happy as you are. Ever since Sonic was announced for Super Smash Bros. Brawl, I wanted Mega Man right after, and after that, Pac-Man. I knew I wasn't going to get them then, but I've always wanted Mario, Sonic, Mega Man, and Pac-Man in Smash Bros. together after that, and I'm so excited that that dream is finally a reality. :)

That would be cool if Spyro was featured in super smash bros. Ik he isn't official with nintendo and what not, but one of his games were ported for the nintendo gamecube Spyro Enter the Dragonfly. That would pretty much be the icing on the cake.

First of all, you just summed up all of the Smash Bros hype for this year's E3 in the time it took me to find out about Pac-Man after the Smash tournament. Second, I love that Pac-Man made it to this version of Smash. Third, if Chrom or Lucina from Fire Emblem: Awakening make it, then I am all set for life: no more need for another fighting game in my life if one of these two characters make the roster. Captain Falcon will make it, no doubt. Ness is going to be there, no doubt. I doubt that Mewtwo will return and I hope for Zero or Bass from Megaman as an assist trophy. Andre, Nintendo, Sakurai(if you can read this), you all rock! I subscribe just for these types of videos: Andre gets excited over something I am excited about. The Pac-Man trailer made me cry, literally man. That shit was too much.For a lot of the reasons stated were a lot of them. The design was what got to me. I love the design they chose and I just..died.

It'd be great to have Crash, Banjo-Kazooie, and Conker.. But they're all third party so I doubt it.

I'm really happy to have Pac Man in. Honestly, I knew he was going to be in. Namco/Bandai is helping develop the game, so I figured he'd be in. Apparently, the WiiU Pacman stage is based on the "Pac Land" arcade game, and the 3DS stage is based on the original arcade game.

PacMan is cool, but it does not top the Palutena Reveal video.

It's great that Mario, Sonic, Mega Man and Pac-Man are all in the game. But next time, I'm hoping to see some Simon Belmont. We've got Nintendo, Sega, Capcom and Namco, Let's see some Konami in there.

Someone has probably already told you this, but Pit and Palutena are actually pretty old school too. Pit's first game was for the NES and was released in 1986. Both he and Palutena debuted in it.They even later went on to have a gameboy game in 1991

Captain Flacon's Falcon Punch is so iconic to the franchise that they have to put him in there. At least I hope so. It's like "Get over here!" From Mortal Kombat. But I'm very happy for Pac Man in the game and excited to see how he plays. Also, Andre. It looked like and sounded like you were about to shed a gamer tear a couple of times there. The only characters I think that could appear in the next Smash Bros. are (and I'm talking new characters) Bowser Jr. if they put in more Mario characters, possibly Ghiraham because Ganondorf was just a bulked up Captain Falcon (Or they can make Ganondorf use the sword he taunts with), Toon Zelda because she couldn't make the cut in Brawl due to time constraints, Dixie Kong because of the same reason as Toon Zelda, Another Metroid character (not Ridley) I'm not that in to Metroid so I don't know any of the characters and I don't think Sakurai wants Samus to be lonely, and thats all I can think. What do you guys think?

I agree with you on this video. Especially with the younger generation complaining. I started playing when the first smash bros for the Nintendo 64. Nintendo did a awesome job with pac-man. The kids in the younger generation doesn't understand anything about the gaming. So they really shouldn't have any opinion about this.
