I can play 6 instruments (guitar, drums, sax...) but when I see someone plays gu zheng, I feel so small. It's not just about playing, it's about art and grace, hand movement and beauty. I really admire gu zheng artists. Thank you for the video, Canon D on gu zheng, it's just amazing.
Guqin: www.youtube.com/@Zideqinshe/videos Erhu: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-AVXejOoPECA.html&pp=ygUG5LqM6IOh Guqin is even earlier than Guzheng, with 3000 years history. inner peace.
This just shows how brilliant a composer Johann Pachelbel was so that someone equally as brillant could reinterpret the piece 300+ years later. Bravo Moyun! Bravo!
Good to see differences between size and tuning and, oh, those low notes are so deep. Guzheng almost seems to have a depth of a grand piano and touching play of an acoustic guitar combined it's own uniqueness in the sound.
also recommend you Guqin, another chinese traditional instrument which is even older than Guzheng, with 3000 years history. www.youtube.com/@Zideqinshe/videos
I like how she mixed all different kinds of canon like kotaro oshio's canon or the original canon by Pachelbel. What's even more amazing is that she's playing on different kinds of guzheng and adding her own percussive beat. I really enjoyed it ^^!
Western classical music on Ghuzeng opens up a new perspective for me. The second and third Ghuzeng sounds absolutely stunning, full of character, the resonant is deep and more expressive than harp since she can bend the string.
"Yi Ru" is very attentive and very caring! 👏👏👏 Introduction to the author of the modern version of Canon: 300 years ago, there was a German named Pachelbel. When he was 10 years old, the war made him an orphan; he wandered to England, and was adopted by a luthier who played the piano in the church every day in a small village in England. Listening to that luthier playing the piano every day, I also learned the piano under my influence. "Pachelbel's Canon" (Pachelbel's Canon) is the most famous work of the German composer Johann Pachelbel in the Baroque period, from his "Canon and Giger in D Major, for 3 Violins and Bass Concert" (German: Kanon und Gigue in D-Dur für drei Violinen und Basso Continuo). Because it is the most famous Canon music, it is sometimes referred to as "Canon". However, in fact, Canon is not the title of the song, but a form of the song. Canon in D major (English) Kanon und Gigue in D-Dur (German) Johann Pachelbel Chinese name of the work Canon and Giger in D major ~~~~ Canon is a music composing technique, and like fugue, it is one of the writing techniques of polyphonic music, and it is also an imitation technique using counterpoint. Canon also refers to musical works created with this technique, such as Bach's "Five Canon Variations" (corresponding to five zithers). Although all the voices of the canon imitate one voice, the voices of different heights enter at certain intervals, resulting in a continuous effect one after another. The round singing is also a kind of canon. In Canon, the first melody to appear is the lead sentence, and the answer sentence is imitated later. According to the interval difference of the different voice parts, it can be divided into canon of the same degree, canon of the fifth degree, canon of the fourth degree, etc.; Transposition Canon, Retrograde Canon, Reverse Canon and other techniques. Canon (meaning round singing) originated in Germany and France, and appeared in the 12th and 14th centuries. The name of Canon was originally "caccia" and "clnon" in Old French, so it is generally believed that its title comes from Old French, meaning "to rely on". (This statement is doubtful. The relevant entry on the English Wikipedia says that "canon" in Old French means "learned"-learned, academic. It is suspected that learned was written as leaned by mistake, and leaned means "to rely on".) (The old French "canon" comes from the German "kanon", which means "law, law", so it is generally believed that the original meaning of Canon is "law".) Canon ushered in its golden age from the first half of the 15th century to the middle of the 16th century (the period of the Netherland School).
My husband is a musician so we have an appreciation of the effort of someone as dedicated as you and the beautiful rendition you created and played. You have an amazing way of transporting us and making this so beautiful to the ears and mind. It brought tears and smiles. I only wish we could hear you in person. Many blessings.
I've always thought this piece was over done. I mean it's like used at every wedding I've been to. But this performance - THIS performance has me loving it again. My favorite cover of all time!!
I really love the guzheng, to me its as if someone took a piano, opened it up and laid it on its side (like a grand piano) and directly accessed the strings to play. The level of skill, knowledge, and artistry of this young lady is just astounding! Such a beautiful blending of classical western style mixed with classical eastern style. 🥰🥰🥰 I really love guzheng anyway, especially in the Cdramas, the deep, haunting tones~ that drawn out sort of twang that really seems to personify a feeling and clarify a moment. Although I have compared it to a piano in a way, there is really nothing quite like it in terms of tonality and the depth. While it's true that the bass, viola, etc can reach and draw out the tones for depth, those instruments can't quite get the same emotive twang or ripple between notes. Pipa and erhu can get the twang sort of, but not the depth. Guzheng is in a class all its own!
That was incredibly beautiful! I loved it so much it brought a tear to my eye. I never would have thought that one of my favorite pieces of Classical music would be performed on a traditional Chinese string instrument. Well done!
For me this is worlds best music instrument. The music it produce hits your soul in such way, tears wells up in my eyes each time i listen to this wonderful gift of china to the world.
I honestly want to see a group get together and compose something using instruments from various countries. The Guzheng, Hand Pans, the Hurdy Gurdy, among others. Just to see what can be done with such a variety of instruments from different parts of the world.
Thank you very much for introducing people from all over the world to your art, folk instruments, their magical deep sound. It's beautiful, I sincerely admire those notes of feeling and emotion that they give rise to. Truly for music there are no borders of colors, peoples and languages. We are all beautiful in our culture, accumulated by generations of beauty, emotions and feelings that are preserved in the musical, textual, visual and sometimes even dance traditions. And this should be spread, grow and multiply through the possibilities of modern technology. You are a wonderful example of this, each of your works is a little holiday for the soul. With love and respect from Russia ❤ Upd: I know this is not original Chinese music, but nevertheless, I wanted to convey my admiration and gratitude to the author.
@@renildoborges9208 Mutual Brother) I am grateful to the author for moments like these. That is the power of people, the beauty and goodness that unites and makes each of us richer. It makes my heart happy to feel such moments. Someday all peoples will be united, someday evil and filth will be lifted from our souls. And in this will be the contribution of everyone who has spread pieces of his soul, feelings of beauty and harmony, between people, nations and peoples. Showing how different we may be, how different cultures, peoples and traditions may divide us, the main thing is that we are all human beings, in the brightest sense of the word, and that is our strength.
I love your videos. I have linked several of them to my friends. I hope I am helping your channel grow even if just a small amount. You are super talented!
And hugs from Munich and then hugs - from space - after listening to this synthesis of European composition and the Asian soundbase. What a weaving of beauty - so that one dances - even while sitting. Thank you. Fare thee well.
this is Chinese guzheng, ancestor of Japanese koto, show the respect for the history and fact, even you dont like Chineseor China. guzheng is almost 1000 older than the copycat japanese one which was introdued to japan during tang dynasty. japanese even didnot change its name 筝,koto just its Japanese pronounciation ofthis 汉字😂. all the historical records is written by both countries official historical books, you can not deny it.😂
My goodness, that was totally delightful, I have never heard any 'Classical' music played on Chinese stringed instruments before it was incredible. My very best wishes to you @Moyan Official, from Wales.
wow.. what a masterpiece.. i love your version.. it perfectly preserves the "character" of the original but adds a new dimension of ghuzengs magic to it.. thank you!!!
That was beautifully done. I love how you made each individual instrument shine and allowed their unique sounds to lend to how this tune builds and relaxes…. Thank you for a delightful demonstration!
This is one of the most beautiful and well executed pieces I ever watched on youtube! I wish they would edit and have her play all 4 instruments at the same time. I can only imagine its beauty! Wonderful, wonderful. 棒极了!
This is the BEST version of Cannon in D I have ever heard. From the arrangement to the actual play, perfect in every way. Love to hear more 'western' classics being on this instrument.
True. Pachelbel was from the baroque period, and his music was played faster than during the following classical period. Nowadays canon is being played in slow classical tune, which is still incredible. But I really do enjoy the rock canon version which is closer to how the original canon is supposed to be played. Classical canon will put you to sleep with a smile but rock canon will excite you to start doing stuff.
The way she play this song very differently gave me this feeling of " I believe i ever heard this song somewhere... But what song" But when she come to the iconic note of cannon rock, i admire her play style
WOW! First of all, I’ve always liked Canon in D. I really, really, really enjoyed this version. You are an exceptional young lady with an incredibly exceptional talent. I just subscribed and will be listening to what you already have posted. I look forward to your future videos. Well done.♥️🙏
thank you pachelbel and moyun for bringing joy to the world. the internet is a wonderful thing. without it world wouldn't have known such kung fu masters existed...and missed the wonder
wow..this is my first time hearing this on these particular instruments and it brought tears to my eyes..she is amazing! you should track each recording of each instrument and play it back in sync with the others. it will be beautiful music! thank you so much! i needed this calm on a otherwise busy day!
The only word I have for this is...BRILLIANT!!! The music itself was outstanding, and the transitions from one instrument to the next were absolutely FLAWLESS!!!
