Hi Kelly. Hope you had a fantastic cruise. Ali always does the bed test as soon as we get into the cabin. Mask wearing is an interesting one. Everyone was really good at the start and that changed after the Airlie Beach stop. I think a lot of people were of the mindset that as they had just spent the whole day off ship mixing with other people and then standing for what was probably the best part of an hour to get back on the ship then what was the point. Staff at restaurants were very vigilant on hand washing and masks but we didn't really hear any announcements. There might have been but we don't recall them being made.

Hi Gary. Thanks for supporting us and commenting. We are just finishing off editing a full ship tour video of the Encounter which we hope you will enjoy. We did a 3 nighter on the Coral in June and were very impressed. Will definitely be considering that ship again. 14 nights Singapore to Brisbane sounds like a great trip. We are on the Carnival Luminosa on her inaugural sailing on 6th November and after that are looking to put a head-to-head comparison video together. Do the 2 nighter on the Coral, she's a fabulous ship.

Hi. This was filmed on 24th September, just a couple of weeks ago. The requirement is that masks are to be worn in the public areas such as shops, theatres, lounges, lifts and walkways or when social distancing cannot be maintained. You are required to wear masks when entering restaurants, and this was enforced at that time, but not when seated in bars or restaurants, in your cabin or outside. I suspect that will still be the same in November. In reality what happened was that people all went along with this for the first couple of sea days but after the first port stop when a lot of people had got off the ship and mingled with others, it was a lot more relaxed around the wearing especially in situations such as getting up to go to the bar etc. To be honest it really wasn't that much of an effort just to slip a mask on when walking around the ship. Wherever you are going in November we hope you have a fantastic time.

I've been told no masks needed on board from last Friday. So you'll be fine

Hi Steve. It's just the way the planets have aligned over this 12 months or so period. We had a bit of leave built up from work and quite a few Carnival cruise credits from COVID cancellations. Then some deals came up on Princess, P&O and Cunard. The next one on Quantum of the Seas was a sort of treat that we planned last Christmas. Our kids are growing up and going over to the UK to stay with relatives for Christmas and New Year so we thought we'd get away ourselves rather than stay at home. We will run out of leave from work or money at some stage though :-)

Hi Judy. Some cruise lines do special solo cabins but I don't believe that P&O have any, at least on the Australian ships. Solo cruising is generally not that different in price to 2 people in the cabin, unfortunately. If you have a travel agent maybe see if they can get any special deals as they may have a bit more leverage with the cruise line. Also, look out for the regular flash sales. It will still be nearer to the dual occupancy price but it might be more acceptable than full price.

Hi Bindi Lou. It all depends which way the ship is facing. If the sun is directly on the balcony then you won't get shade anywhere and if the sun is on the other side of the ship then it's all in shade. Where the sun is either to the front or back of the ship the undercover part is in the shade and the exposed part is in the sun. We generally didn't find it to be a problem but our upcoming video on best balconies might give you a better idea. May be out either later this week or next week.

Hi Judy. Yes you can. Most of the cabins have the same bed arrangements which are 2 twins that attach together to make a Queen bed. When you book you just specify how you want the beds set up. Hope this helps.
