Omg yesterday was a barn burner! I own and operate a roof cleaning and pressure washing business and was out working in the heat from 10am-7pm yesterday. Wooooooooha it was toasty. Working again today but should be done by 3pm thabkfully!! Enjoying the warm weather, perfect pool/river/lake/ocean weather Get out there and enjoy it while it lasts people!
Southern OR here, power outages in Grants Pass, Shaded Cove, Talent so far. My hubby and I plan to cage our parrot and head to the nearest ER if power goes out here in Jacksonville. Worried about family in Ruch.
Southern Oregon watcher here and it’s a cooker already out there. An RV blew up in the woods a few miles from me, 5 ac burned, they have it lined but we fear as it heats up and the wind starts it will take off on them. Our valley is full of smoke. A young woman is badly burned as she was in the RV. Be safe out there everyone.
Prayers for the injured girl and all who are facing pain and difficulties from this heat. It was 91° inside my house yesterday because we’re near a wildfire and our power was turned off because of it. If anyone is challenged this way and can’t find a cooling center stay aggressively hydrated and mist yourself with a spray bottle. (Personally I put a pinch of sea salt into my bottle of water). Be wise.
Oof I'm not liking the temperatures for Seattle. I thought we were only supposed to have a bad day on Sunday, but 98 on Tuesday?? I'm going to have to stay in a hotel with those temps.
High here yesterday near Grand Coulee, 97˚F (Tempest weather station). Expecting some triple digits for the next two or three days. Banks and Roosevelt Lakes getting a lot of boat and swimming use.

It’s too bad Hoquiam uses the airport as its official weather station.Its 3 miles from downtown Hoquiam and doesn’t represent the real temperature.A lot of the time it’s 3-4 degrees hotter in the actual city.
It would be interesting if you could give us some info on Hurricane Beryl. All the weather reports just say "we think it'll do this or that..." they don't go into the fascinating HOW of it all. You've spoiled me for those low info "65% chance of something-or-other, who knows?" weather reports.
Think about roasting a marshmallow over a campfire. It doesn't turn brown and get gooey instantly, because it takes time for the thermal energy of the fire to heat up the inside of the marshmallow. So the summer solstice, June 21, is the date on which Metaline Falls, WA receives the most thermal energy from the sun, but that date has been preceded by lots of days with less thermal energy and thus much cooler air, ground, and water. On August 21, less thermal energy being added to the system that day is less than on June 21, but there's already a lot of thermal energy in the air and ground, so August 21 is likely to be significantly warmer than June 21.
