I had a girlfriend who worked here in the early 2000s, we’d spend a lot of time here, always used to be so busy with lots of stores. Sad how it’s almost a ghost town now.
It kinda reminds me of that scene in the book Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep where Rick Deckard goes into a police station populated by androids hiding out and pretending to be real cops. Especially the top floor at the dim sum restaurant. Who exactly are they making all that food for?
The remodel made the place infinitely more bland. The old look was fun to go inside. There was a cafe at the ground floor that they removed. This place cannot be saved by independent businesses, they simply don't appeal enough to the average shop goer.
