* Is it safe to put a mattress in a pack n play?
Baby Pack and Play have flexible sides that can be pressed out. This creates gaps between the side and the added material in which an infant can get trapped. That is why the mattress pads that come with pack n plays are designed thin, firm, and uncomfortable. Consequently, mattress toppers should not be used for infants younger than 1 year.
* Are there mattresses for Pack n Plays?
I thought that when you get the pack and play you just have one option for the mattress, and can only use the firm pad that comes in the box. However, as the baby grows older and becomes a toddler he or she may appreciate the comfort and support of better mattresses. The first and most important step is to get a mattress that is snugly fit. Moreover, you want to make sure the mattress is waterproof. I have our top two favorite Pack n Play Mattresses. These mattresses meet the safety and comfort standards to ensure a comfortable environment for your little one. They are both waterproof and Amazon's Choice. I put the link for both in the description to check them out. You cannot go wrong with either one. But I strongly encourage you to get fitted sheets for the mattress pad.
