I agree. I always cringe so hard when I see people do that as well as touch the bottom of their shoes🤮 then again, I am a germaphobe when it comes to that, so I’m probably being dramatic. lol
I did two weeks in a backpack half this size by doing something like that. Just packed a small amount of liquid detergent in a small container (the dry detergent strips would also work very well with less weight and space) and using hotel sinks to wash and chairs, desks, radiators, etc., to dry.
You can compress your rolled clothes even more and also more neatly by Ranger Rolling them. Save more space by placing a pair of knickers and a pair of socks onto each tee before rolling them.
I like using the compression packing cubes rather than the regular. I too, roll my clothes inside the cubes. My curiosity is how much the backpack weighs once you are all finished packing?
Yes, great to see how she uses them. I have regular packing cubes and just got 2 compression packing cubes. She's right, they make a big difference. You feel better organised. Plus if Customs have to open your backpack, it's a lot easier to repack it there & then when you have the compression cubes. I just saw the guy ahead of me go on a flight with socks hanging out of his bag - he stuffed everything back in, then shoes on top!
doesn't taking this much stuff defeat the purpose of bringing a backpack? why not take a suitcase at this point? i think it only makes sense to one bag if its total weight is under 7-8 kg. this probably weighs 12kg and will kill your back if used for days on end.
I think this video is more like a proof of concept than sth you can reliably implement without costing sth. Somebody else in the comment mention about the hygiene factor of putting your shoes together with your clothes.
My dad just had to stay in the hospital for a month and one week. I stayed with him I had a new outfit everyday without repeating. All packed in a backpack. I could’ve done more if I rolled it. The nurses said how are you able to carry all that in a book bag 😂 Wear your heaviest shoes and bulkier items Then roll everything else.
So many videos showing how to pack but in reality you only 3 things. 3 under wear 3 socks 3 tops 3 trousers/ shorts One set you’re wearing, one set for the next day and one set in the wash/drying.
So much clothes for 2 weeks-I did a full year being a nomad on 3 tank tops, shirts, 2 shorts, a summer and a winter pair of pants, 2 leggings, 1 dress, 1 down jacket, 1 rashguard, 3 pairs each of underwear and socks, 2 pairs of shoes; with all the heavier items for travel vs sitting down to work on my laptop. Washing machines exist, otherwise hand-washable, wrinkle-free items are your best bet.
Don’t use packing cubes use compression packing cubes they save a lot more space I have been traveling with packing cubes for one 1 in a 40l bag and they took up alot of space now I use compression packing cubes and I just got to say wow I have a lot more space with compression packing cubes.
Then you are wearing too much to bed , sleeping under too heavy covers, in too warm a room, not wearing natural breathable fabrics. Or a combination of the above. You should never sweat in bed. You should be at a comfortable temperature without being too warm. It's really bad for your sleep to be too hot in bed, and bad for your health as you end up lying in your own sweat all night. Natural fabrics, cotton, linen, wool, down, all breathe and help regulate body temperature. As does fresh air during the night. @@pablovi77
@@italianyourjourney because its filthy! you walk around outside and in public toilets that have wee and poo bacteria and then you put your shoes in the bag next to your toiletries and clean clothes!? this is common sense
@@italianyourjourney thats not true, not all Europeans do for example my friends around EU take them off, especially the Germans and me here in London i take mine off because London is so filthy lol
I graduated to a thin and light laptop with a graphics card, slightly less performance for a less painful journey. Look into acer swift x and Zephyrus g14
It definitely does tho…. Helps compress stuff together. I always put my larger items (jackets, denim pants, etc) in the cubes. I thought they were overhyped for a long time but, I’ve literally sat there and packed together the EXACT same stuff in my suitcase without the cubes and then with the cubes….. and have had space left over with the cubes that I didn’t have without them. It’s overhyped for a reason. I have three and have never had to replace them. 🤷♀️
@@plainbagellYes, compression packing bags are absolutely worthwhile. They weigh nothing. Plus as she says in the video, you can put them straight into drawers when you get there.
I hope she cleaned her shoes/sandals very well before packing. She packed them without putting them in a shoe/plastic bag. I'm imagining stepping on dog 💩 or someone's spit and then packing it in your bag.
That absolutely depends on the airline. Some are fine if you pre-book, up to a certain size. I keep my cabin bag down to 30 litres or even 25 L so it will fit under an airplane seat. Plus some airlines also have a weight limit. It's always worth checking their max cabin bag sizes.
Hi there ~ nice video! Can you tell me the approximate weight - I’d love to travel with only a backpack, but can’t handle too weight much on my back. Thx :)
