Carrington Morgan i day do something everyday and don’t shop little by little I notice if I don’t buy everything I want right away it seems like I only have two weeks to rush and buy and I be like oh no I have five months what was I doing 😂😂😂🤦🏽♀️😱😱😱😱😱😱😂😂😂😂
My family of 4 take a folding rolling wagon. ( purchased in the sporting goods department of Walmart but available at just about any good sporting goods, camping store or area in a store) we load our 4 12 pack boxes of cans of soda, any tote bags or back packs and roll on board. My husband is diabetic and our children and I are asthmatic. so that means we have to have an overnight case of just things like a nebulizer, and medicines. it is very easy to get through the lines and customs and just pile it into the wagon. which we then park in or near our state room at embarkation and just take the totes with us to enjoy the start of our cruise. It folds up and then stays with the rest of the luggage under our beds. Thanks for all your advice and tips and continued success!
Sherri - I've been watching your videos for the past several weeks since I booked my cruise. We embark TOMORROW and wanted to tell you I've used a TON of the tips you've shared for this sailing. Thanks for helping us get organized and ready for an awesome relaxing vacation!
I so love all of your videos they are so practical and helpful. We love to drive so I'm not limited on what I can take, so I love that show how to organize your things vs. omitting some.
Just going through all your vids until you post the packing cube vids lol we love the packing vids. We have never been on a cruise for the first time. We have ordered stuff from Amazon and it's like we have a order every day lol
Myself Husband and another couple are going on our 1st cruise ever on May 20th. which is 2 weeks away! I'm exicited and nervous all at the same time and watching your videos for 1st cruisers and how to pack light has helped me so much! thank you for all your videos!!!!
This was perfect timing I came on RU-vid today specifically to search for this and how handy that you guys just uploaded the perfect video! Oasis of the Seas in 9 days and I'm so worried I will forget things I need! Haha
Awesome! I used the Shacke packing cubes and back pack you showed us for the second time on a recent cruise. Still love them both. I use the back pack as a beach bag and it takes up little room in my suitcase compared to my old canvas bag. I don't even unpack the cubes and they all fit on a single shelf in the cabin holding virtually all my clothes except for a couple hang up items and shoes. I wasn't sure I'd like them but was totally wrong! Enjoy your upcoming cruise, looking forward to the videos.
Yes, please do a video on your toiletry bag stuff. Husband and I are taking our first cruise together in 2018, but I am investigating and learning for when it is time to pack to make it all hassle free for us, I pray. lol lol
I'm from Britain but still absolutely love your videos. Me and my hubby are off on our first cruise around the Mediterranean in October and really looking forward to it ☺
Hi Sheri, new to cruising, love your vids, just a thought, have you tried Adhesive tape instead of lint roller, wrap it backwards around your hand and wipe off the fluff, plus you have tape for emergencies, cheers for now, off to pack for Baltic cruise soon
Great video!!! Of course! When we were on our cruise to Hawaii last year my husband realized my backpack was much easier to carry than his so he carried my bright pink backpack!!😀 he said he didn't care, but he knew everybody probably knew it was mine anyway. Hahahahahah. Lots of great ideas. Thanks for doing these videos. People like me really appreciate what you do.
Thanks so much for all of the tips! Can I ask where you found those striped pouches to organize some of your medications and such? Thank you so much for all of your help! Your videos are great!
I got the same ones at my local thrift store, think they were from target in a 3 pack. I love going thrifting for items like this because instead of $10 each you get them for $1. Also it's rare to get to a thrift store and not see tons of options in the bag department.
Love your videos and have been binge watching all your tips and tricks. One thing I would love is a list in your description box of the brand names of the items you use and where you purchased them or if you could mention it in your videos. I'm interested in purchasing your toiletry bag. Do you know where you got it or what the brand is so I can look it up online? I should note that I'm in Canada. Keep up the great work...I'm going on a cruise in a few weeks on the Allure of the seas and your videos have helped me tremendously! 😊
Hubby and I are going to try to get away with a backpack and beach bag carry on only, (besides checked luggage of course) but now I'm considering packing some La Croix, too! 😂 And I am the same way when it comes to bags within bags. Every time we go on a trip my husband asks why I'm packing so many little bags (and why I always buy more! haha. I'm a sucker for any kind of bag or luggage) and he calls me crazy UNTIL he's searching for something and I can easily say "It's in the small striped bag!" And know exactly where everything is. 😉 Thanks for the great tips, as always!
Great Video as always! My wife and I just got back from our 5 day cruise on the Carnival Valor out of Galveston. it was great.! That bring your own 12 pack is no joke lol We saw no less than like 50 people with 12 packs.. However I was told we had to have it in our carry on. But I did say we saw no less than 50 people with 12 packs.. They just walked in and through security with the 12 pack out instead of in the carry on. I was surprised but they all were let through. We packed a 12 of Diet Dr. Pepper for my wife and put it in her rolling carry on. It was much easier to transport than to carry in hand. But anyway just a confirmation of the soda thing. Again your videos are great.
Hi, thank you for responding to the comments that I leave. I realize that these comments are not related to the above video. I apologize. I have two questions. 1. I have heard you talk more than once about your belief that it is important to use a travel agent when planning a trip rather than booking it yourself. Please tell me why? Also, how do they get paid? In other words, about how much more would it cost me to book my trip through an agent as opposed to doing it myself? 2. How can I go about locating private shore excursions through outside of the cruise line? For example, in Alaska, what might I type into the internet to find private tour companies that I might be able to use on my cruise tour? Thanks again.
3 cruises i forgot a pen :) not now ..got it down pat ..it was the only thing i used to forget for a 7-9day cruise.. even on my very first i did well.. love you vids.. thx for them..im in australia but can learn a lot from you also x
Going on a cruise at theme of February to Mexico. Just wondering what kind of wet bags you had, size and where you purchased them? They are cute and I think they'll be handy.
Have you ever had trouble with dropping your carry on of cokes off at your room after boarding the ship? Are you able to access the hallway your room is in? Does anyone bother your suitcase while it is sitting out there?
I am going on my third cruise, but it's been about 20 years since my last one. This video is very helpful as I didn't have these to get information from back then. My cruise is middle of July, cruising Carnival Freedom.
wow sherri u give me such good tips. thanks so much for answering my family cruising questions for our Christmas cruise. also thanks for the heads up on packing an emergency chng of clothes...GENIUS!!! im a true JUST IN CASE girl. i think a hanging toiletry bag n wet bag is all i need. i have those exact portable chargers thanks to ur tips. oh n hooks cant forget my magnetic hooks. a lil f.y.i. walmart has portable around the neck fans to keep cool. n amazon has the portable ac uints. thr handheld. u never discuss hats. i got a uv protection hat off Groupon. now for lady's n everyone else wht do u recommend for sunburn
We always do carry on only and we get on the ship super early so I have to wheel all my clothes around and carry a heavy backpack to the pool and buffet
I think I need to invest in a rolling carry on luggage. I use a Vera Bradley duffel right now but it's always so heavy that it's a pain to lug around the ships on boarding day. Your product reviews and recommendations are going to cost me a fortune! Lol I love all of it
+Emily Knab Vera Bradley bags are pretty cute. Maybe you should can stick with it in the name of "form over function". I know what you mean though- it's difficult to lug something around.
Have you done a video comparing the different cruise lines you've been on? I've only been on Princess since they have a port close to me but I would like to know how it measures up to the other lines. Oh, and you should definitely do a toiletry bag video. 😁
So glad I found this!!! Information is great for cursing as well as general travel. Going on 1st cruise January 2018 and will definitely use these tips. Is it true that most of the walls in the state room are "magnet" friendly? Also curious with what you do with the clothes hamper on debarkation day.
My Embarkation bag is actually similar. Tho for packing in general, I pack my clothes, and toiletries into a duffel the fits under the seat on the plane. Then have a empty rolling suitcase that I pack my day bag with electronics in. I fly into port a day early, make a store run for the things I need more than carry-on size of. Then I rearrange my bags so I have what I need for just in case the room isn't ready for a few hours. The Duffel and the roller stack and go to the room. My day bag and I head off to party!
Definitely into the lanyards now. I used them attached to my belt loop, other end with the card, held in my cargo pocket. I am so glad to be off soda, and onto sparking water myself! It doesn't take long for it to start tasting distinct, or even "sweet". Oh, you asked about Progreso humidity. It was hot, but not as bad as some of the Caribbean ports like Jamaica. I climbed up all the pyramids available, which intensified the heat. The tallest had to have been at least a 30 degree angle down, steps taller than they were wide. A teenager girl was horsing around above me and almost slipped, probably would have taken me and whoever was in our paths to the bottom.
+thejokerspeaks terrific lanyard hack! We need to get all the CruiseTipsTV guys out there doing that! Those strep ruins are a doozy- I remember being at Coba and being more scared to come down than go up!
Loving your videos! Please can you tell me the exact make/design of your green back pack? Also the small bags that you packed your swimwear in and your medication. Thank you
We are flying from NJ to FL then going on a Disney cruise. How do I pack the 12 bottles of beer (2 6 packs) they allow? Or 2 bottles of wine...in checked luggage? Carry on? Buy it once in FL?
We are going on first cruise next month...so excited....so about what we can take on embarkation video i can take a beach bag besides a carry on bag plus luggage that gets checked in???
Do any of you guys think RCLs maybe will name their next Oasis Class Ship (After Symphony) Melody of the Seas? Maybe because Harmony, Symphony and Melody all have something in common! Just a thought 😁
Great tips! My family and I are only taking a carry on and small backpack each ( no checked luggage at all). We are really packing light. Should we still tip porters even if they don't have to handle our luggage?
My family is a bit late we are booking for June 9 Disney Cruise we are booking on my birthday May 8 it’s a bit risky for a family of 7 to do that but I’m excited for my 2nd cruise
Your back pack pretty much looks like mine. I don't take a change of clothes. Usually wear to dinner what we wear on the ship. Sometimes I will take a second top in case I get something on the one I have at lunch. What kind of external chargers for your phones do you have? I am looking for one so would be interested what kind they are.
I was wondering how many doses of otc meds do you pack for a week long cruise? I don’t want to pack too much but I also want to have enough should we need it? Thanks!
If anyone is looking for a durable pack i highly recommend going with something overbuilt with extra stitching and features like YKK zippers. 5.11 and Maxpedition make very durable products designed for hiking, camping, etc and i've never been disappointed spending more to get a superior product.
Do you ever carry a bag with you around the ship? On our last cruise (which as our first cruise), I carried a small backpack because I had 4 kids with me (one was still in diapers) just in case. If you do, what kind of bag would you suggest? I even considered a Fanny pack! Lol! I just like to be prepared and don’t always feel like walking back to my room, but I do wonder if it is really necessary? My husband and I are going on the Bliss by ourselves in December, and I’m wondering if I should bring a small bag to carry around the ship.
Rock the fanny pack. They are coming back in style. I just purchased one for my Alaska cruise in July. Want to have my camera available if I see wildlife but have my hands free most of the time. Crossbody would work too, but I am always losing purses if I take them off or getting them caught on things. Women's clothing needs pockets!
Okay. I am completely confused. I understand the backpack and was planning on that, but I dont understand the suitcase. If you didnt take drinks would that be necessary? I travel with girls on girls trips and I don't think I could handle all of this. Is this in addition to your main suitcase? I'm obsessed with packing and normally don't check a bag unless absolutely necessary so I do ONE carry-on and one personal bag on any trip.
+KirbyGirl nope, if I didn't take drinks (those must be in a carry on) and didn't have a child, the carry on would be unnecessary. Everyone packs differently. I like my toiletries and swimwear close by. Drinks won't fit in a backpack. Hope that clarifies. Sorry to Have confused you.
CruiseTipsTV Excellent! You know how you have things mapped out in your mind and think you are good... Thanks for clarifying 😃 I have been loving your videos!
