As a Packers fan, my hat's off to Caleb Hanie. He performed admirably in an incredibly tough situation. It's every kid's dream. Down two scores, a trip to the Superbowl hangs in the balance, and coach calls your number. He almost got them there. As happy as I was for the Packers to win that game, I think just about everyone became a Hanie fan that day. How could you not? It was a gritty performance against nearly impossible odds, and he almost brought them back. I'm sure there are a few throws he'd love to have back, but the kid's got nothing to hang his head about!
@chriskay1449
@chriskay1449 3 года назад
Dom Capers was the biggest contributor to that. Once Hanie came in, Cpers ceased blitzing, sat back and made Hanie beat them. That strategy almost backfired.

cpk1994 one good year?! Ok, Lovie wasn’t the coach in 2001 when we went 13-3. But after that: 2005:11-5, 2006:13-3 (SUPER BOWL), 2008: 9-7, 2010: 11-5 (this game), 2011:8-8, 2012: started out 7-1 and almost won division.

Even if the Bears had won this game and gone to the Super Bowl, I honestly think they would have been blown out/crushed by the Steelers. Its almost as if the Packers did them a favor and saved them from embarassment. Sure the Bears D was solid, but the Offense wasnt that great despite some good players i.e. Hester, Knox, Forte, Bennet, Olsen, Gould etc. Cutler would have screwed up a ton in the big game
