Aquí en España este hombre debería estar en el saco de Cervantes, Quevedo, Goya, Ramón y Cajal... Podría decirse que en cierto sentido está infravalorado por ser un hombre de "tiempos recientes"
Yo creo que inflavalorado no está, lo único que no hemos pasado suficiente tiempo para verlo con esa perspectiva. Está claro que ha sido uno de los mejores (sino el mejor) guitarrista de la historia. Reconocido mundialmente en Japón, Europa, Estados Unidos, China, toda Sudamérica...Pocos por no decirte ningún otro músico español ha tenido tanto reconocimiento a su superior trabajo
Totalmente de acuerdo. Paco de Lucía es uno de los genios más grandes que ha habido en España. Para mí, es comparable a Cervantes, Quevedo, Goya, Tárrega, Picasso, Dalí,... Etc. Y yo incluso, también subiría a dicha categoría a Vicente Amigo, que me encanta también.
Todavía no puedo creer la poca repercusión que en mi opinión causó en España la pérdida de uno de los mayores genios de la música que ha dado este pais. No se nos da bien valorar lo nuestro. Creo que este monstruo de la guitarra cautivó más a públicos lejanos que a los de su propio tierra. Debería tener una calle en cada ciudad española, por lo menos. Siempre grandioso y eterno Paco, en este y en el otro mundo.
creo que tienes razon, recuerdo en su dia cuando murió en esa playa que se dió la noticia en tv como si hubiese sido algo normal, y para nada reflejó la inmensa perdida de talento que fue para el pais, aunque tampoco hay que tomar como referencia la poca repercusion que se le dió a la noticia por parte de los medios de tv y radio porque ya se sabe que esos medias estan guiados por unos poderes economicos ajenos a la musica, yo me quedo con que Paco sigue en el recuerdo y los españoles no dejamos de ver sus videos y oir sus temas en youtube, porque siempre veo comentarios recientes en todos sus videos reconociendole como el mas grande guitarrista que ha existido, pero tambien tienes parte de razon, los españoles no sabiamos lo que teniamos hasta que lo perdimos y Paco para el monstruo que era fue mucho mas valorado fuera de su pais que dentro.
@@Rauliki_U_u Estoy seguro que en muchos países de Europa y otros se le dedicó más tiempo a recordar su figura que en su propio país. Hay gran cantidad de programas de televisión, franceses, alemanes, ingleses, etc. donde actuó y se le entrevistaba en los 70, porque allí si sabían ya entonces ver a un genio del tamaño de Paco. Lo de este país es realmente lamentable y me temo que nada ha cambiado desde entonces. Muchos artistas flamencos triunfan más en todo el mundo que en el país que pueden decir que ha dado al mundo un arte universal.

bary kink de teoría sabía mucho, amigo, usted puede creer algo pero no lo afirme tan rápido, desconozco si exteriorizó todo el conocimiento que tenía pero interiorizado tenía un montón. Somos grandes consumidores de música, los grandes pilares de teoría musical los tenemos interiorizados todos, uno puede no saber que nota o que proceso se necesita para hacer una canción pero podemos imaginarla o incluso corregir o aconsejar a un compositor durante su trabajo. "dos notas más aguda" me han llegado a decir sin saber nada como usted dice, y en ese momento se referían justamente a la tercera de la escala mayor (que era la que estaba utilizando, y la nota era la tónica). No son conscientes de ese proceso pero, al igual que con las lenguas, si saben perfectamente y Paco era un sabio, sus frutos provienen de aplicar ese conocimiento (aunque fuera a ensayo y error) y de todo el esfuerzo que le echó. Paco fue un gran trabajador, ninguna obra suya fue por gracia de dios ni de algo externo, fue su trabajo y fue gracias a él.

@Averamentho Trin esa histaria es verdad, pero en los últimos años el maestro Paco ya había dominado tales conocimientos tal como lo habeis escrito, el había experimentado tanto en su busqueda de nuevos sonidos que al final los ha logrado conocer; y nos ha dejado una riqueza cultural indiscutible y aunque muchas personas les moleste y tal cosa se deba alejar un poco, la introducción del cajón en el flamenco es sin duda uno de los grandes aportes al flamenco
I had a music teacher called Dario. he loved to play this song...he died in 2015. I miss him so much. He was like a grandfather I never had. Dario met Paco and his brother,Manolo Sanlucar and many other tocaores. Dario,I'll be your pupil forever. Rest in peace master.
I just realized I'm drinking whiskey sitting round a bonfire and played this on repeat for 4 straight hours. Makes me sad we'll never hear anymore of his talent but the fact he gave us a fair share of his life thru music is whats keeping me inspired to keep going. Love and miss u paco. They should call Paco the Iceman... dude is playing 15 note per second picado and looks like he just woke up from an afternoon nap. Ever notice how even when other great guitarists play his pieces, and hit all the notes, it's still somehow not even close to how good Paco plays it? The longer I play guitar myself the more I see his playing is just on another level, no one even comes close, and that is the truth.
clavecin harpischord players would put a miror on top of their instrument and look at it to make sure their face would remain montionless and expressionless so that does not surprize me at all serious performers no matter what they play could keep playing even if a blackout would happen and plonge everybody in total drakness very talented performer :)
I would agree. I've played all my life too, and, in his style of playing, it seems he is alone in a class by himself. And it's not a close call. Magnificent.
They say it takes 10,000 hours to master a skill, this guy spent ten hours a day playing since early childhood, mastery no longer even applies, the man simply was his guitar.

They say it takes 10 000 hours to master something. This man played 10 hours a day since he was 5 years old. That would mean that by the time of this concert, when he was 28, had spent already 23 years × 365 days × 10 hours= 83.950 hours. So he had already mastered the guitar 8 times.
QUICK MAFS. Jokes aside, I love what you are pointing out. There may or may not be a case against "naturally talented" people. But it is undeniable that extensive practice allows to achieve the highest level of mastery.
@@andercheq natural skills do not need a case, it's a fact that people are born with different fingers, nerves and reaction time. How come there are many flamenco musicians in the world that have spent their entire lives with guitar just like Paco did, but none of them could match his speed and precision? You can only spot talent once you have equal professionals to compare.

When two individuals both practice extensively for long periods of time, differentiation in their "level" would come from other factors like physical and mental characteristics or perhaps personal experiences too. My original point was more of a remark to the fact that extended practice is what allows to achieve high proficiency, much before and in spite of these natural characteristics of individuals.
@@saudude2174 Paco de Lúcia comes from a family of flamenco musicians, he has practiced and performed with proper technique since he's a child, that goes a long way in helping developing his style and sound, you can say he was pre-destined for greateness since young age
@@saudude2174 From what I have heard from people who were friends with him, he really did practice more hours, in a far more disciplined way, then anyone else in the world of flamenco guitar. He would finish a multi-month concert tour series, go straight to bed after the last show, and literally awake at sunrise the day after the tour ended to practice slow chromatic scales with a metronome for five hours before he even played a different technique. A lot of the other musicians in the group thought he was basically mentally deranged, and was taking it too far. But that was his attitude.
How can a human being think of such complex composition and then play it without a single wrong note the more i watch paco de lucia play the more i get mesmerized absolutely unbelievable ,nobody will ever reach his level
i feel instantly connected to his music. it's the first time ive heard him, but i feel like i've known him my whole life. Here lies a testament to a man who put his whole being, heart, mind, body, and soul into his art, truly making it his own.

@@OneManArmy144 When I was a kid, I really liked what ge did with Brian Adams, then I digged into his repertoire a little bit more, but found it too serious at the time. I mean, I don't see any kid listening to such a music on repeat. Neither did I. But Paco stayed huge inspiration for me anyway. As you know, countless guitarist copied his style, and that's ok, but somehow everybody stucked with the Phrygian mode, which has very distinctive signature to it. Here and there they use Melodic minor as well which also has this oriental signature. So when you start listening to flamenco music, you are pretty much focusing the rhythm, which seems most important. Scales pretty much stay the same, and gets tiring after a while. I think there is a yt video where Paco explains the problem he had while playing in trio with McLaughlin and DiMeola. He sad his muscle memory was so accustomed to flamenco mode that he didn't know how to improvise in other harmonic structures. Being a huge fan of both Paco and John, I ended up listening to the trio very much and I really liked how Paco stretched himself in that particular setup. I know flamenco is routed in tradition and represents the expression of pain, and the scales like Phrygian perfectly fit there, especially when Major scale drops in as occasional optimism. Anyway, he was the best flamenco guitarist ever, just imo he would have benefited with diving more in other musical waters....
Paco de Lucia is the interface of flamenco art since its inception because he was able to deal with the guitar instrument with feelings and depth emanating from his deep interior linked to the history of Cordoba, its art and its amazing architecture. Quite frankly, Paco de Lucia is the prince of this art and the setter of its true original signs that he inherited from the roots. It is a fruitful tree that does not repeat.

Paco de Lucía me acompañó desde mi infancia. Nací y crié en Alemania, pero siempre me sentí conectado a su música. Tanto que terminé en España. Y no solo España, sino precisamente Andalucía (habiendo pasado antes por muchos sitios en España). Y finalmente llegué a mi casa.
@@Wolfire777 de Algeciras y mirando al estrecho de Gibraltar de una parte y la Sierra de los alcornocales de otra se hace el paisaje natural para que Paco los recree con el paisaje musical que rasguea en sus manos.
Cuando veo amigos tocar guitarra, o a veces artistas profesionales, a menudo tienen la cara torcida por la música, la lengua saliendo entre los dientes, los ojos crispados etc... Paco de Lucía, él, queda serenísimo, unido con lo que toca.
Si algunas vez ven este comentario alguien que me conoció, debo decir que este tipo de música me encantaba. Paco fue la definición de perfección y no apreciarlo es un pecado. Parte de mi alma era la contemplación a lo que siempre quise hacer y no pude.
En mi humilde opinión, Paco fue, es y será una institución de si mismo, de su propia expresión, arte, pasión...que también toca flamenco, bulerias, tangos...pero su musica es en definitiva el, su propia creación. Imposible definirlo en un genero y si hay uno es Paco. Buen viaje⚘
Nací muy tarde para poder verlo en vivo, pero me da mucho gusto haber nacido a tiempo para escucharlo en mi época, porque seguramente no habrá alguien parecido en muchos siglos más. Toda una inspiración para mí y que en paz descanse Paco de Lucía.
Impresionante ese hombre... Recuerdo cuando era pequeño acá en México y encontré unos cassettes de él que un tío estaba por tirar... Me dejó perplejo... Yo soy rockero/metalero, pero esto es simplemente de otro mundo. Me da tristeza que mi papá haya sido más de puro ranchero y mi mamá lo más cercano a esto era escuchar Richard Clayderman y que no pude estar más empapado del arte de Paco de Lucía
Es que Paco de Lucía hacia hablar , reír, llorar y cantar a la guitarra. Toca con el sentimiento y el alma de Andalucía, con las pausas y cadencias donde hay que hacerlas, el ritmo, que refleja una emoción

Pese a que lo estás viendo y escuchando, es difícil de creer que una guitarra pueda llegar a tocarse así. Esto es música en estado puro. En mi opinión, en el siglo pasado Paco sólo es comparable a Miles Davis, en cuanto perfeccionaron y transformaron sus géneros (jazz, flamenco) no una sino varias veces. Es curioso que ambos hayan interpretado el concierto de Aranjuez de maneras tan diferentes y absurdamente magistrales. No sé si otra pueza musical tenga el honor tan alto de haber sido interpretado por los pináculos de dos géneros tan diferentes.
