Nice video but why the delay at the finish? My coach insists that we have fast hands and slower slides. Is he an idiot?

hasnan I know that I’m 4 years late, but pausing vs not pausing the hands at the finish are just 2 different styles of rowing. Pausing at the finish lets the boat run more, whereas spinning the hands round the back turn and a slow slide teaches you control and composure to not rush the slide.
