Great video! I did this circuit twice in the 80s while in the Boy Scouts. We were from California. The best adventures of my young life were on the Bowron Lake circuit. So much fun! Thank You for sharing!

Nice video.. We did the circuit in June also. It was our first canoe trip. We loved it so much, we are doing in again the last week of September.

That is awesome. Hopefully the Fall colors are out in full force for ya by then. Will be interesting and also kind of sad to see the destruction from this summers forest fires. Have fun and happy paddling. We already want to go back as well!

Going on my first canoe trip this July to Bowron Lakes. Any advice?

@@babbs286 pack light makes it easier on the portages, leave early mornings to have good pick of camp sites. Bring mosquito repellent for the west side.

If you wanted to, could you bring a high efficiency cooler full of meat or would it not fit in the food caches? I went canoeing like that once and there's really nothing like steak and bacon on a sandbar in the middle of nowhere 🙂
@Searching4Solitude
@Searching4Solitude 6 месяцев назад
You could. As long as campsites aren't too busy you shouldn't have an issue fitting it in the cache. Even if your not overly concerned about the weight of packing along a full cooler you still need to be mindful that Bowron limits 60lbs of gear in the canoe if your using a canoe cart. They are strict about this and they will be checking and weighing you in prior to your departure.

Nice - we are planning a trip for the last week in June this year. Where would you take a layover day? Any preferences?

Absolutely fantastic video on the Bowron Lakes. What Canoe cart brand were you using? Thanks from Woodinville WA
@Searching4Solitude
@Searching4Solitude 2 года назад
Thanks. Its the Expedition Canoe Cart from Clipper/Western Canoe and Kayak. They are available for rent from BC parks.

I’m currently planning our trip here- what would you say you wish you brought/ are extremely glad you had? I can see you have extra gear like chairs, I would appreciate any and all info/ suggestions! 🤗

Also did you make that sail you used? Or is it sold as a sail? Was it helpful (and I should plan to bring one?) also best lakes/ areas to fish?
