Paddy’s Lament | Irish folk song 

Here's my take on a traditional Irish ballad that I've always loved. The lyrics speak of an Irishman who left his home country in search of fortune in America but instead finds himself fighting in the Civil War.
If you listen to the whole thing, especially with headphones, you can probably tell I really enjoy layering vocals and coming up with various backing vocals. I tried not to get carried away though and let the song smoothly build up as it flows.
Sinéad O'Connor has a beautiful version of this song which I'd like to recommend to anyone who enjoys these slow emotional Irish pieces.
