This is very true, Paddy keeps this up and he will never be champ. This has happened to many people including Ricky Hatton, he was great, exciting but when he fought the elite he was out of his league. It comes down to how hard you have to work to get back down to weight. If you have to lose 10KG thats hard, if you have to drop 15-20KG constantly it will start to ware you down. Lets hope he matures in his approach. Ultimately unless he really improves his skills, techniques while being in one of the toughest divisions he will not get anywhere anyway.

In terms of your college football comparison, the bcs was started after the year Nebraska were co champs. Nebraska was voted champion in one poll, and Michigan in another, so they were co champs. The bcs was supposed to use an algorithm to get the 2 best teams to play in a championship game. It worked perfectly in some seasons but terribly in others where there were 3 or more undefeated teams. The bcs got scrapped like ten years ago for the system they have now, where a group of humans chooses 4 teams for a playoff.

Just because your body can get away with it early, doesn't mean you should do it. There's a finite amount of cuts your body is able to do, and for survival it learns to resist the weight cuts which results in increased weight gain for the rest of your life, on top of potential organ damage from extreme water loss and/or periods of starvation. Get fit and stay fit. Doesn't have to be ripped, jacked, shredded, etc. But by no means should you walk around 33% higher than your fight weight

I know what he's doing can't be healthy, but we also see that with year-round dedication and grind fighters bodies fall to pieces. Who knows maybe getting a bit out of shape makes your return to peak condition more gradual and puts less strain on your body. The stronger you make anything the more brittle it becomes, that's just the law of things. I'm not saying what he is doing is right, though I think there's a lot of bro science in the attitude of what he is doing is so wrong. I mean, some fighters are just that good that they get away with this kind of shit - but Paddy hasn't struck me as that type of guy. @ɐllᴉɹoפɐɯI • most fighters don't think that way. Most fighters care about moving up in the rankings, towards a title shot. They also see it as a prestige. I'm number 3 in the Ufc, which ultimately means number 3 in the world. Why would a call out some upstart unranked guy? He's not on my level. Plus, there's the risk factor. If you're number 3 and lose to nunber 2, you're still number 3. But if you lose to a unranked guy, he will take your spot in the ranking. Too much risk for very little reward, which in this case would be social media points
