Paderborn is a city of extraordinary beauty. It combines modern, antique, and gothic styles. Walking through the streets of the center you will plunge into the times when it was just being built and planned.
The city is located in the northeast of North Rhine-Westphalia. The area of the city is almost 170 km². Home to 151,000 people. There is unrealistically beautiful nature and a river that flows through the city - Pader. The city has many attractions that are worth visiting - museums, parks, castles, churches, etc. In our video you can see a walking tour of the city center on a holiday.
Regularly, every year, a carnival is held in this city, which is attended by people from all over the area, both local and from other countries, children and adults. The most important thing is to also dress up in a carnival costume so as not to be different from other people. Walking through the center you will see many shops, cafes, markers where you can buy whatever you want, and also sit quietly and calmly in a cafe, looking at everything that is happening. The Pader River is considered the shortest in Germany, the city was named after the river.
The city of Paderborn is small, but it is definitely worth a visit for everyone. There are several lakes in the city where you can simply relax, breathe fresh air and organize a picnic. The city is also home to a large university that many people want to enroll in, because it is considered very promising. Also, the city is home to many visitors who came for peace and quiet life, since the city is very small. You should definitely visit the Altenbekener viaducts, which are located outside the city. But you will never be able to forget such beauty.
Also Wewelsburg Castle, which is not in the city itself, but nearby. In it you can see what happened during the Renaissance, during the Second World War, as well as the stories of local princes and bishops. Well, the most fascinating museum for both children and adults is the Heinz Nixdorf Museum Forum. Which shows the technologists of today, computers and the future.
In which you can spend half a day looking at and delving into history. Also, if you were looking to relax, you should visit the thermal pool. Narrow streets, small old shops, wooden houses and cafes with cute little tables and chairs - this pleases the eye of locals and visitors to the city.
