In this incredible documentary film, Padre Pio tells his story. The voice of the simple friar from Pietrelcina lives on through his own writings, recalling various moments from his remarkable life.
Padre Pio is now known as Blessed Pio of Pietrelcina, as a result of his beatification on May 2nd, 1999, by Pope John Paul II. A humble Capuchin priest from San Giovanni Rotondo, Italy, Padre Pio was blessed by God in many wonderful and mysterious ways.
He was born to Giuseppa and Grazio Forgione, peasant farmers, in the small Italian village of Pietrelcina on May 25, 1887. From his childhood, it was evident that he was a true child of God.

St. Padre Pio, Ora Pro Nobis. I am feeled with great joy as I watch this video, because after I was reading a book on his life and praying for his prayers, I was blessed with feeling and smelling his presence as I was driving to pick up my son. After picking up my son, I asked him if he smelled anything, and he replied that the car smelled like it was filled with roses. When Padre Pio was in your presence, you would smell roses or sulpur. I wanted so much to go to confession in his presence.

I believe in Padre Pio. I dont care what other people say. If I have a belief in the true religion, I would not be fighting with other people to prove my claims. Love, peace and respect is the great measure of a true religion.

@RockyBalboa211 very good answer. non catholics dont understand or refuse to understand that we believe Jesus is the One we worship and is worthy of worship. Padre Pio helps us with our faith and points us to Jesus. Jesus used Padre Pio to call us to Him

@RockyBalboa211, good day. I am an non-catholic but I believe that Christ has already done what should be done for redemption. We need not suffer just like how Christ suffered. What is the point? Who will this Padre Pio save after all this? Christ suffered tremendously for our sins. Why would He allow another mortal to go through all these passion and sufferings again? If the catholic church supports this, it is a very unfair doctrine for it belittles what Christ already did.

Well if he doesn't believe the words of Jesus then it would be better (I suppose) than believing and ignoring! Either way he's diverging dramatically from the way Our Lord asked us to treat people and I would say he's creating God in his own image!

God does not need anyone to save people. It is true that what Christ did on the cross is the TRUE redemption but that does not mean that Padre Pio is not a Saint. Saints ask God to share in His sufferings not to save other people because only God saves through His grace, but these Saints have the privilege to suffer like Jesus suffered. All saints through history suffered for the Truth, Paul and Peter, James, Stephen and many others suffered Martyrdom, Jesus promissed persecution

@271828183141592654: It does not need to be believed to enter heaven, these are just things that happen that in some ways can strengthen ourinner faith in the Lord. I mean what's more beautiful than suffering the same way as our Lord suffered? To experience the suffering of the Lord Jesus is the most anyone can ask for in this world.

Stigmata? He is that priest who accordingly bore the wounds of Jesus Christ. Just why would the catholic church allow this to be believed in? Isn't Christ's suffering, crucifixion, death, and resurrection enough to be the basis of faiths and spiritual redemption? Why does the church still need these distractions? This is scary because it cannot be Divinely inspired or caused. The teachings of Christ are more than enough to sustain us with the truths Christians need.

Christ gave him the suffering, so that they both can save sinners through it,.. if u read through his book, he actually just want the pain, but dont want the physical stigmata on his hands, as he says it humiliates him, but still, he takes the humiliation to himself as a part of suffering... even his local bishops banned him from celebrating the Holy Mass..and he accept that in holy obedience.. "Then Jesus said His to disciples, "If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me." Matt 16:24

@271828183141592654: Christ has done what was needed you are correct. Yet, we should still strive to be and act like christ in every way possible. We must strive to be perfect like Christ and to resist the temptations of the world. Padre pio won't save anyone, as a catholic I believe that his life story will aid people in being converted and then being saved by Christ. To suffer overall brings us closer to what christ had to endure, and it brings up closer to an understanding of God.
