Don't know how I lived without this for so long! I make dog food for 2 of our dogs ru-vid.comUgkxG-7WiT7ocumjytOpHDFt632PL0pxXRAg (we have 5!) and it is so much quicker in this. Love having the inner pot stainless so I can use my immersion blender right in it without worrying about scratching. It makes potatoes great and fast! Still working on the vegetables, first time came out great, second time I did different ones and they were a little too mushy. Just need to adjust the time. I highly recommend this pot!!!

Dont stir!!! the magic of paella is that you only stir it once when you add the liquid and then you don't touch it no matter how much you want to. It creates a lovely crust on the bottom of the pan and contributes to the creaminess of the dish. Then you add more veg on top and it steams as the paella cooks.

I don't see the recipe below so here ya go: Happy Pear's take on Greek Paella Pan on high heat 1.5 tbsp oil 1 red onion 3 cloves of garlic 1/2 a red chili Cook down 2 min high heat 1 carrot - grated 1 courgette diced into quarters 2 red peppers - cut long ways then half 3 tbsp tomato puree Fry down three minutes - give it a good stir 200g cherry tomatoes 1 tsp saffron (turmeric if you can't get saffron) 1/2 tsp smoked paprika 1/2 tsp black pepper 4 tbsp vegan red wine 2 tbsp soy sauce 500g polished white rice (short-grain brown rice as substitute) Fry for 1-2 minutes stir constantly to toast the rice 1 1/2 L vegetable stock Add vegetable stock and simmer for 25 minutes Optionally add at end: Large handful of green olives Handful of cashew nuts Juice from 1/2 lemon Garnish with rough chopped chives Thanks guys - much love from Canada.

A teaspoon of saffron is too much and too expensive. Google how to use it before you buy.

I'm from Valencia, where is originally the paella and I have to say that it does not look anything like it, I understand it's a vegan version but in the original receipe it also has vegetables like butter beans and green beans. Saffron most of the times it's replaced by food coloring, at the end when you are letting it is then when you put over fresh rosemary to take up some flavor and when it's done and you put the rice in the plate is when you throw a little bit of lemon in your portion if you want.

are there any vegan paella recipes that you've found that are "close" to what you feel is authentic (minus the chicken and rabbit)? I'm scouring RU-vid for a good recipe and I can't seem to find anything yet. Thanks!

Top o'the morning guys!!! I love your reinterpretation of vegan "paella", it' looks amazing and I will definitely try preparing it! Just a small useful tip from someone who was raised in a Spanish family. In principle after adding the veggie stock and mixing it with the rest of ingredients the rice should be left to cook on its own without moving it (with the spoon or other utensil) just because when you move it, the short/round rice will automatically release starch. If the rice releases too much starch you will end up with more of a veggie "risotto" dish than a paella (which tends to be drier). Remember "paella" is not only the ingredients but also a technique of cooking rice. Keep up the good work and those delicious recipes going! Cheers!

but this isn't paella is it? It isn't made the same way and bears no resemblance to a real paella. It's just veggies, with some rice added.

Saffron and Turmeric has nothing in common except the color! Their taste and aroma is totally different. They really never are a suitable substitute for each other. Believe me, I am from Iran(The land of best Saffron in the world) and Turmeric and Saffron are hugely uses in our cuisine (almost as frequent as salt and pepper) and it's really frustrating that many people think they are similar cause of the color! Nope, they are not, at all :)

In some places you can buy Saffron Spray, which is very cheaper than the Saffron strands. If you can find these sprays, buy them and use them. In that way you can have the color and flavor. If the spray is not available around you, just skip Saffron. None of the other spices aroma is similar to Saffron. By the way, you have to grind and brew Saffron strands, in that way you let the strands wonderful aroma to be released and you get the best use from very very little amount of Saffron. They are two ways to brew Saffron strands, either with boiling water or with ice. Here you can read more about how to prepare Saffron, my country's everyday spice :) www.thepersianfusion.com/how-to-use-saffron/

Heya guys, love your version of paella. I love one pot wonders. The green grocers are look all delicious at the moment, got lots of peas and eating them raw but saving some for risottos too :-) I got a load veggies (don't worry it will all be eaten as I don't like waste) it was all so tempting with the brightly coloured fruit and veg. I made a lasagna with courgette, red + green pepper, sweetcorn, potatoes, red onion, garlic, mushrooms, some mixed herbs, tomatoes and chilli. I know it's v simply to make béchamel sauce but I omit it. Instead of cheese on top I put a layer of sliced courgette I kinda marinade them with salt, pepper, paprika and tiny bit of oil while I doing everything else. Sorry for the long message but I'm getting there :-)Do you have a recipe (like an awesome one) for ratatouille?
@annbarron606
@annbarron606 7 лет назад
I forgot to say for anyone attempting my version of lasagna lol I do add a bay leaf to my tomato sauce but shur if you're doing the white sauce just add the bay leaf to that :-) also I suppose the nutritional yeast would give that cheesy taste if chasing that flavour :-)

Alright, I'm a vegan myself and a Spaniard and I must say that while this dish looks awesome, it's not really paella... You DO NOT STIR paella like that, it's not a risotto and you're supposed to cook it in a 'paella' which is the name of the special kind of pan used.

Love your channel but this looks nothing like paella. You can use artichockes, green and white beans, garlic, red pepper and once the rice is cooked add lemon juice on top. But you changed completely the recipe, and you stirred the mix after the rice had been added, that is not the way paella is cooked. I am from Valencia and you should call it a rice with veggies instead because the word paella is getting overused and out of context.

I love your recipes but I'm Spanish and more precisely from Valencia, where the paella comes from, and I understand that you have to name the video using an attractive title, but I will call this just "rice with things", and I'm sure that it tastes great, but it's not a paella.
