Welcome back, Defense Enthusiasts! After the success of Pakistan Army and Navy, now let's dive into the latest addition to Pakistan Air Force - the Chinese-made CH-4 drone. We'll discuss its formal inclusion and explore new systems accompanying this drone and Pakistan's complete drone fleet. Let's get started!
1. **PAF-ELINT DRONE**:
Following the footsteps of Pakistan Navy and Army, Pakistan Air Force has officially confirmed the induction of the Chinese-made CH-4 drone. Notably, it's the only drone utilized by all three branches of Pakistan's armed forces.
2. **SHAHPAR-II DRONE**:
Introduced by GIDS in 2021, Shahpar-II serves surveillance and combat roles, capable of flying at altitudes of 16,000 to 20,000 feet and speeds exceeding 220 km/h. It's equipped for air-to-ground missile strikes, making it a versatile asset for both Pakistan Army and Air Force.
3. **TB-2 DRONE**:
To supplement its drone fleet, Pakistan Air Force selected the Turkish-made TB-2 drone in 2021. With deliveries starting early this year, these drones are set to enhance PAF's capabilities significantly, particularly in surveillance and combat operations.
4. **AKINCI DRONE**:
Operated by Pakistan Air Force, the Turkish-made Akinci drone boasts high-altitude, long-endurance capabilities. With its first foreign customer being PAF, Akinci is poised to augment Pakistan's aerial reconnaissance and combat capabilities.
5. **FALCO DRONE**:
PAF has long utilized the Italian-made Falco UAVs for surveillance purposes. Now, reports suggest plans to upgrade these drones for combat applications, marking a significant expansion of their role.
6. **Wing Loong II DRONE**:
Acquired from China, the Wing Loong II drone has been integrated into PAF's fleet with advanced capabilities, including Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) and Wide Variety of Chinese Air-to-Ground munitions.
7. **Burraq Drone**:
The indigenous Burraq drone played a pivotal role in Operation Zarb-e-Azb, demonstrating its effectiveness in targeting high-value terrorist assets. With a wingspan of 9 meters, it offers a range of 2000 km and can carry out precision strikes with hard points for air-to-ground weapons.
