On 7th Feb 2006, over 16 years ago, I was a part of a workshop on Shyama Shastri Kritis conducted by Vid Shri RK Shriramkumar at our residence where I learnt the Kriti "Pahi Shri Girirajasuthe" in Ananda Bhairavi. Today, I’m honored to collaborate and present this very Krithi, embellished and enhanced by virtuoso, violinist Shri RK Shriramkumar. Every song has an evolutionary journey for a performer, and I feel this Kriti has attained a full circle moment, in a sense!
We have also explored a role reversal on the standard raga format of a concert! Why not vocalists repeat violinists? And who better to explore this with than the maestro, encyclopaedia Vid Sri RK Shriramkumar Anna?!
