Great job Lucas. The Bx 23s did an awesome job as well. I buried an 150’ ELECTRICAL LINE with mine a couple years ago with lots of rock and it did great. 👍🏻

That’s a big job! I was fortunate to avoid any major rocks. I couldn’t believe it! Thanks for watching!

was debating getting backhoe for my tractor same size just an iseki, more or less decided me now, really handy tool. need to dig some footings for garage base also some drainage soak away pipes looking at this video think it would do it for sure.

I put a much larger backhoe bucket on mine , what a difference , and it handles it no problem , we’ll worth it cuts the digging time by at least 30 percent , don’t know why they put such a small bucket on it from the factory , the system is protected by the relief valve any way , doesn’t seem to go into relief any more then the small bucket, highly recommend it

You don't have to pump out meter pit to read meter. Take a 4 in pipe and place a clear cap on it. Just place clear cap over the meter and you can easily read it. The rural district use them and saves pumping thousands of gallons a year not to mention the time. I think you can buy them ready made.

I can guarantee you that you saved well over a couple thousand dollars. Had this happen to me when I lived in the communist state of MD. Never had any indication of a leak until the water dept showed up and wanted to know why I was using so much water. I lived on a 100x100 ft lot but Almost 150 ft from the water main. Cost me around $7k to have the water line replaced and almost $2300 in water bills. They would not adjust my bill. At least I was on a septic tank so there wasn't waste fees added in. Plus the water dept shut off my water twice during the repair process and would not turn it back on the last time until I paid the remaining bill in cash. At the time I was working 2 jobs just to keep my head above water so to speak. Was not a fun experience. Glad I dont live there any more.
@PeeksPeakHobbyHomestead
@PeeksPeakHobbyHomestead Год назад
Man that is a shame. I knew it had to be a huge savings. I’ve never hired out a big job like a full water main replacement. I think I paid $5k extra for the backhoe attachment and I know it has definitely saved me more than that with all I’ve been able to do with it.

Not to be the negative one here (love your videos, I’m getting a BX soon) but pex isn’t rated for underground, but if you insulate it well, it’ll work. Did you insulate it?

Own a bx23s in Australia on 5 acres (400 hours) you obviously have a lot more patience than me as I find the BX even with a 4 in 1 FEL quite 'Underwhelming' in every way. Enjoyed watching the video though.

I just did something about the same, I had a frost free hydrant rust out at the bottom and we put 3500 gallons of water from my well into the ground. Dug it up using my Yanmar Yt235 and replaced the bottom fittings of the hydrant the original owner used galvanized and plastic and it just did not last went back with the correct brass fittings and now we are back in business have water to the barn now.

So............... That was a $23k job, lol??? Dude, lol, get the valve tool, get a piece of pipe 2 feet long that fits over the valve, weld bars to the pipe, drive into the ground over top the valve and use the pipe as a guide for the tool. Never bend over, never drain the hole. Your welcome and please send the consulting check to my company address.
@PeeksPeakHobbyHomestead
@PeeksPeakHobbyHomestead Год назад
Ok ok, so maybe I exaggerated a little…. 🤷🏼‍♂️🤷🏼‍♂️. Lol. I did have to drain the hole to connect the new line, but yes, I gotta get a valve tool!

@@user-vu5zx2us1g I’ve got a BX25D and I hated digging with it so much I bought a new KX040-4 mini ex … now that’s a trenching machine!
@D70340
@D70340 Год назад
@@KillingItCountry Can you mow your yard with a mini ex? Can it pull trailers around as quick as a BX can? How about putting a rototiller on it. A BX might not be fast, but it gets the job done the same. Most who buy/own a BX is not using them for one single purpose. And thats why they are so handy to have. Mini-Ex`s are a one trick pony.
@KillingItCountry
@KillingItCountry Год назад
@@D70340 I don’t mow with my BX, I have two riding mowers for that. I do pull a trailer with it though. It’s a great machine - I’m not arguing that - I just think the back hoe is useless for my needs. 🍻
