This episode was nothing but heartbreak, especially for Ali. He was a pure soul who was trusting of those around him. He even called Sang Woo "big brother" when he was calling his name at the end. It also is a testament to how people will take advantage of and abuse immigrants. We even saw that when Ali continued to work for 6mo without being paid, when Mi-Nyeo verbally attacked him for being a "foreigner." Truly heartbreaking

That game literally showed sang-woo's life story... Sang-woo has the worst luck, losing to Ali who just learnt the game so he cheated to win....Just like in real life where he makes the worst bets and loses money so he cheats.

"Ali might actually win the whole thing fam" He had no idea...

This episode is just a series of daggers to my heart, one after the other.

I love how everyone despises Sang-Woo for what he did to win, but are understanding of the situation with the old man. It shows how much a difference remorse makes to how people view you as a person

Ji-Yeong's death was just too painful, really the hardest for me, I just felt anger and frustration for Ali and the scenes with Sae-Byeok and Ji-Yeong just broke me, really wish they both went to Jeju Island together.

R.I.P Ali Abdul 🙏 He died just because he a good human being

Actually, Player 001 sitting by himself is a really popular meme. But knowing the context of this moment makes it more sad. 9:40 The moment everyone’s heart dropped. The game makers knew what they were doing. They set it up so that players all teamed up with someone they trusted after working together during tug-of-war just to encourage them to resort to betrayal and deception to win this game. I personally think this is the best and most painful episode of the series. It hurts to see so many beloved characters die in the same episode. Even after rewatching this episode multiple times, I can’t help but tear up.

Ali is just wholesome. He had hope and he believed San Woo was better than what he was. This scene shows betrayal but also hope in friendship. Im still not ok.

Ali trusted Sang Woo because in literally every other instance when the two interracted Sang Woo seemingly helped him. Even when Sang Woo was being shady it didn't negatively affect him. He thought he knew his character, but he didn't.

I could not watch Ali die. He was too good of a person to be in that game.

What a devastating episode. I can't fault any of the characters for doing what they did but .....I can dislike some of them for it.

Michael the old man wasn't quite laughing at the start whilst people were getting shot, he was smiling and enjoying himself, but yes still a bit strange. This truly WAS a heartbreaking💔😭 most brutal episode that gave you the feels, we cried so hard. Was funny seeing the gangster no. 101 'Jang Deok-su' sweating😰 with fear and his minion teasing him until the tables turned - yes I agree, GREAT acting all round by the good and wicked characters, but the Director and film maker(s) did an excellent job at showing humanity at its very best and its worst. No. 199 'Ali Abdul's naivety, trust and kindness got him killed and in addition to that another contributing factor was him being a foreigner who was unfamiliar with these Korean children's games, no. 218 'Sang-Woo' seeing he could be easily manipulated took full advantage of it and not really understanding the rules 'Ali Abdul' stupidly hands over all his marbles to him, just like what his boss did to him, manipulating him by not paying him for 6 months and probably no compensation after losing his fingers working there. The only positive out of this series/show if there was one, was that the media and newspapers were saying it actually highlighted the exploitation of foreign/minority workers from overseas in South Korea which is a real problem there, then further down the scene we see 'Ali' being desperate taking the envelope off the floor (while his boss got poetic justice) and ran with it which was technically him stealing and wrong, but many reactors say his boss stole from him and owed him that money. Then the last "death" being no. 001 'Oh Il-nam' letting no. 456 '... Gi-Hun' know he was tricking him, but didn't hold it against him and still gave him his last marble and hugged him like a son before 'Gi-Hun' left the game devastated by breaking that trust and his dishonesty to his Gganbu (his neighbourhood best friend/a good friend one you trust a lot and share things with/ally). Yes, this show is great with all the twists and turns and just when you think it's going to happen a certain way it just doesn't. 'Sang-Woo' did 'Ali' dirty, because he looked up to 'Sang-Woo' as an older brother, he called him brother (that was one of the words apparently missed in this English translation which is a shame they missed that point, sad because it had more meaning had they got that right and a few others they missed in this show too), older brother is a sign of respect in Korean culture. Poor 'Ali' didn't die happy, he died feeling betrayed, but I guess it's an elimination, a competition, reality and survival and I've no doubt if they all knew the other would die they all would have probably gone with different partners. We just cried and cried😭 (even weeks later re-watching the reactions I still cry, LOL) and it all started with the girls, then the music, that slow deliberate sad music🥺 and we lost it right there until the end of that episode. I was sad that no. 240 'Ji-yeong' felt she didn't have anything to live for as though her life was worth nothing, but it was worth something, but had so much morals about her to put a strangers needs before hers, it was simply heartbreaking, especially watching no. 067 'Kang Sae-byeok' stand there crying and not being able to turn around when 'Ji-yeong' calls her to tell her "I'm honoured ...to have been partners".😭 Reminds me of the scripture John 15:13; Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. Good reaction - oh well moving onwards towards the end, let the rollercoaster continue!🎢

Of course, survival is the only thing that trumps morality, you can't really blame anyone for trying to survive, regardless of the means. Most people would use any means at their disposal when the alternative is death/nothingness. All the rest are just incredible exceptional human beings, like that girl without a family name. Example: I had a dream once, the most excruciating nightmare one can have. Me and my mother were caught up on the moon and the shuttle back to earth had oxigen just for one person. I couldn't tell her and I couldn't make my mind to send her alone, or to go and leave her behind. Each time I leaned towards leaving her behind, excruciating sorrow befalled me, then when I leaned towards staying behind, excruciating fear paralyzed me. It was imposible to chose and decided to tell her maybe because the fear for my life was slightly bigger than my love and sorrow for her, I don't know. While I was trying to tell her, I realized it would tear her up but even so she would probably chose me, still I could't look at her and the fking words choked me in a roller coaster of fear and sorrow that woke me up. I woke with a type of insane pain in my soul I have never felt before or since. NOW, THAT WAS MY MOTHER! If it'd been anyone else, I'd have been fck you, I'm going (like Matt Deamon in Interstellar)! That's why I can't blame anyone for something I'd probably do too.
