Fun fact! At end of video when it was said theres no treefolk. The original precon deck does have one treefolk. Still the chance of getting em to play that way is slim. Done it once its first game. Also glad you mentioned dragon arch. I thought i was the only one to find that loophole.. to bad you axed the avatar. You could totally cheat in the ten cost card for only 2 at that point. So far best vid ive seen for this deck and it seems like my upgrade to this deck is unique but also what i would argue as stronger than what everyone else is doin. Your only having to fix the mana cause your breaking its synergy with some of your swapped choices. Out of the box 4 games and every time i was 5 mana turn 3 and 8 mana by turn five at least.
Also idk where all this talk about the deck being slow is coming from. Ive had no issue with it being slow at all and infact with a few more choice cards and win cons i can make it frighteningly fast.
Yup! Removing the treefolk meant that this land had to go as well. Also we could cheat in the ten cost card but it would be immediately exiled because of its restriction. Just didn’t like the possibility of losing some cards in exile that I might like to keep. I also think they deck can be fast but I think the deck is a little slower than your average precon out of the box. Glad you enjoyed this deck upgrade though! -Hunter
I also think it’s slow, for a deck with a bunch of ramp it takes me quite a while to build up. I’ve made a few swaps like general ferrous and such and it’s already playing a lot better but still fairly slow
Not really my style of deck but this is a lot better than the original, it actually feels like a reasonable deck now. Will you guys do a precon battle like last time? Since there’s only 2 precons maybe that’s our chance to see the Ever Changing Dane pop off and prove all the haters wrong
@@GuysThatMagic I am really lucky in that I actually have two copies of mox diamond. I started playing just before weatherlight (96-97, 25 years ago now sheesh) and two of the stronghold packs I opened just happened to have the moxen in there. Wish I would've started in 93 so I could have those OG dual lands though 😂
I agree that Krosan Verge is a little slow. However for people light on Fetches, this does grab 2 Triomes to help fix next turn. For more expensive Mana Bases in 5 Color, it's definitely not needed since they'll running all the Fetches and possibly all the OG Duals. Amulet does make Krosan better at least.
It’s just one of those cards that came down to removing things and that was one of them. Removing this and putting in a triome just feels better in the long run in my opinion! -Hunter
@@GuysThatMagic I totally understand especially with the Mana Base for this specific Build of the deck. It doesn't have enough things it gets to make the card worthwhile along with being slow. It's much more playable in decks with a higher Dual/Triome count.
Liked and subscribed off this vid. Thanx for your take. I’m currently delving deeper into this game and wanting to learn 5 color decks. I had this one on the shelf and so decided to crack it open and get to learning. I’m curious, what would the epic mana upgrade be?
So was there a particular reason you stopped using Jegantha for this? I kind of expected one of the additions to have multiple mana pips, but i didnt see one. Was it just because it wasn't needed?
It was just one of those cuts that hurt to do. We added more ways to get other colors (smothering tithe and other triomes) and more powerful creatures that were more than two colors. -Hunter
Hello! Any chance I could send in a commander deck, and have it reviewed/possibly upgraded by you guys 🤔 I would greatly appreciate it! If not its all good
I made a crazy play last night that only happened because I upgraded my deck with this video. My smothering Tithe had netted me 10 treasures. Cyclonic rift was in my grave yard. An opponent was striking out to win the game with 12 12/12s Another opponent had a card which made every targeted spell random. I hit 3 perfect dice rolls to get cyclonic rift out of my graveyard. 3 opponents so it was a 1 in 4 chance to get a card out of a target graveyard Evens and odds to get the right stack on my graveyard(Had 25 cards so split it into two stacks for the roll) Then needed a 1 on a d12 to get out cyclonic rift and I hit it! Boardwiped everybody else and cleaned up shop!!!
Definitely took a hard look at it when I was making my includes. The reason I kept it out is because I wanted to keep the creature count a little higher and didn’t think I could fit another planeswalker in the deck as well as those 3 black pips in the casting cost seems to be a little tougher to achieve when we are running all 5 colors. -Hunter
@@GuysThatMagic awe man, it seemed like a pretty nice include. And yeah i totally understand you. I’ll see what I’ll do. I really appreciate your help. Keep up the amazing work!!!!

It doesn't stop opponents from playing their decks at all. (100% Pure Aggression) If you build this- you better be prepared to kill. Dont run jared for the kavu Use Jodah as a Legendary Craterhoof Always hold a dork and a threat in case of wipes. Only cast jegantha on a crappy first hand. This build gets WUBRG on turn 5 with 95% accuracy with the ability to get it turn 3 or 4 at 80% and the posibility of a WUBRG starting hand at 25%
I built this to ignore blood moon, ruric thar, pinpoint removal, wipes, control and if you are playing against go-wide craterhoof stategies- you must kill that player first. Smash First, hesitation is death.
Were i to change anything it would be adding the last fetchlands that look for forests. Thats it. I would like to add atraxa but she isnt a necessity. Also i suppose any legendary can be considered depending on your collection and budget but- make sure to keep evasion in mind.
It is kinda confusing when you combine the 100 and 300 decks. It would be cool if the 300 deck show was just of the cards added, even if it was in the 100.
Sorry about that! We just look at things like the $100 deck Is for the budget friendly crowd and the $300 is for the crowd that likes to see a little more. The decks overlap sometimes and we just quickly showcase the cards from the $100 list that we keep
@@ryry8997 he spends as much time telling you they are in there from the 100 dollar deck as he would starting new. Then you would see all the cards that are grouped together at the same time.
