Hi Mariam!! Hope you are doing well now. Sad to hear about your situations that you went through. I hope things will go fine soon. I have enrolled for January 2025 for full time masters in organizational management. Would appreciate if you have some advises and guidelines for me beforehand my arrival. How can I get a suitable economy accommodation nearby Crandall University before I land? Any other suggestions for me if you have plz. Looking forward to hearing from you soon. Take care and stay blessed.
Hello Mariam, it is very touching watching your video. This is my first time coming across your vlog. Please, be encouraged, things get better with time. For all migrants, things always get better with time. Although, I am not in Canada, I am based in Australia. You will surely have a testimony soon. Cheers
When you speak to the locals (Uber drivers, people you meet day to day….) you can’t help but also understand their anger. The primary responsibility of International students is to study while working is just a kind of side hustle usually done within or near their place of study. Many International students from some countries today got the study permit as a back door to working full time. This distorted a lot of things and this was fuelled by the government’s decision to relax some of the restrictions on a study permit holder. Due to outcry across board the policies are being reversed and international students are likely going to face tougher times in the job market till they secure an open work permit after graduation.
I totally agree. Thanks for sharing your perspective. There are indications that the work hours might be reduced for international students. We'll know in the nearest future.
This is the harsh reality for most of us here (including those with SOWP), mentally draining ! Recruiters will smile with you so much during interviews that you'd thought the job is yours 😅 Reject mails is the norm these days.
I totally understand you, the same thing happened to me just 2 weeks ago, I just motivated myself that when the time is right, it will happen. Don't lose hope now, thanks for sharing.
The job issue is all over Canada. So it’s not a province thing. Even Canada born citizens are complaining bitterly. I came to Canada when the job market was good about 5years ago as a PR so I’ll say that the decline I’ve seen is massive. Even PRs and citizens are struggling now. Mariam, if possible get your hands on some business (e.g sales of items you think may appeal to a demographic around you, get on Etsy etc), just something to get by and keep trying. It will get better by God’s grace. the rejections are not a reflection of your abilities. It’s just a hot mess out there at this time.
