I feel for you Mathew. I had to hang up my keys because of back and leg issues. I have to walk with a walker now because I can’t walk far at all without stopping to sit. I made it across the US and Canada twice and most of the other states before I had to quit so I still feel lucky. I’m 76 and now I live vicariously thru all the RV bloggers!! Always enjoy your views of your camp sites and camp grounds. Thanks for taking me along!

Home Defense is great for bugs. We spray it on the shackles and areas up closest to the rv. No need to spray on tires. Last quite awhile until the rain washed it off when traveling.

Oh Matthew I feel your pain. As a nurse I’ve injured my back to many times. I’m sure they checked but sounds like either a herniated disc or perforated disc. I hope you feel better soon.

I feel for your pain Matthrew I fell in bathroom standing on tub and hit head on wall and left lower back on toilet. I am 62 and was in a lot of pain. I cracked a few ribs. I was off work for a week on pain med the lowest I could get for a few days and Ice and then I went to ibuprofen now but had to go back to work last Tue, so I did 4 night of work and thank God no lifting. I am off today and only taking ibuprofen x1 a day. I don't know how you have not had pain med. I only have done them for no more than a week and get off. But you get a lot of inflammatory that cause a lot of problems. The ibuprofen will reduce it. I know it is hard to get ice, but it does help. I hope you get better. I have also been sleeping in my recliner for 2 weeks now.

@@BrokenDreamsReborn Many years ago like you I hurt my back, so I thought. I actually tore the ligaments from my pelvis. I also had a doctor who actually listened to me and was able to get the correct help that I needed. It took me 3 months before I was healed.

When my back flares up, I go for acupuncture. After 2 sessions, I am good for months at a time. I avoid bone crushers. The Sangre De Cristo mountains are beautiful, the boondocking place you are in is amazing. Is it cold there? Get well soon Matthew.

Great question! We have solar so we need complete sun so we don't have to use our generator and we have starlink so we need open sky for that as well. And usually when we're under trees, trees drop either sap or it just drops all kinds of leaves and stuff and we have to get up there and clean the roof off. So we would prefer to avoid that. I ended up getting bug zappers for inside my pull toy. They are USB rechargeable. I leave them on 24/7. They don't pull hardly any juice to run. I used to be harrassed by bugs at night while working on the computer, but no more!

I drove out to Roosevelt National park in North Dakota from Charlotte, N C. When I got there I had the same problem that you are having. After about 3 or 4 days of not being able to move I decided to find a chiropractor. With much prayer for him and my healing , 2 trips my pain was gone. I left his office and drove my 2500 Ram and 30 ft travel trailer back to Charlotte and I was pain free took 6 days driving to get home.

Put your cane in your left hand. Google how to use a cane to reduce the pressure on your right leg. I know it sounds totally wrong but that's how it works. You may also need to adjust the height of the cane so as to not make things worse. Hang in there.

You have a spine disc problem. Probably bulging or even herniated. If this is your first attack it will get better but it can take 8 to 12 weeks to get better. Mine is now chronic. Watch for leg weakness and numbness. You may feel numbness in your shin area and big toe. That is common with an L4 or L5 issue. Check to see if your muscle is weakening. Try standing on your heels and walking. That tests your shin muscle strength and can lead to foot drop. If this gets better be VERY careful as these come back and come back worse. Think before you do anything that might cause the issue again. At some point it may become chronic.

Matthew you need to go to PT if you can. If not go online to see what exercises you can do. I had a frozen shoulder and it is so painful to even sleep. I went to a chiro but the only thing that gradually got it better was PT. They know exactly what you need.

You need to see a neurologist! Probably an MRI would be warranted. You probably have a slipped or ruptured disc….i have had epidural steroid injections for the last 5 years approximately once every year or so and it relieves my pain. Just had my last one yesterday and already have no pain… if that doesn’t work you may need surgery as the longer those nerves are compressed the more chance you could have permanent nerve damage… praying you get some relief soon!🙏

Praying you get well soon I’m also having back problems right now so currently back at my home base resting so hopefully will be back on the road by August. I have severe arthritis and siactia so every couple of months go to a Pain management center to get an epidural in back. Now I need to start PT and loose some weight 😢.

We sold the house in 2020 ( BAD MISTAKE ) Cant downsize on a VA Loan even til they get this realeastate Market out of Phycho mode. 21 days to heal, whether a chiropractor or doctor treats you. or you just tough it out on your own. That's what I read on the internet and to the day, I felt better. I remember the comments of one woman who wrote it was more painful than childbirth.

We are going to do a cargo conversion when my husband retires. I am not sure how long it will take because we are going to use the retirement funds to pay off our house. Hopefully we can be on the road by December 2025. I hope we can meet up someday. BTW, we have great friends who have a RU-vid channel, makeeachday count365 check out their cargo trailer.

I have Sciatica Nerves for yrs and now arthritis in my neck and my lower back and now I have Osteopenia. It's very painfully. It's hurt to walk and can't lift anything anymore. Sigh.. Hope you get better soon.

I was on steroids for Asthma for 5 days and realized I hD no pain from osteoarthritis and L5 siatic (so i get the pain) when I stopped I was in sooo much pain for 4 days after withdrawal I don't care never again steroids. Get better.

RN. Fulltime solo woman boondocking RVer x 10 yrs. What was ER diagnosis? I see another comment that you've had NO X-Ray s, MRI, nothing??? So glad I'm retired cuz healthcare is plain stupid nowadays (couple decades!). Go to a chiro, several consistent visits. Boondock 2 wks, move and 2 wks, more as needed. You use Boondock apps, right?

@@BrokenDreamsReborn I had debilitating migraines from the time I was 10 til 19, I had a headache 24/7. And that’s not an exaggeration. After 3 times a week for 3 weeks I woke up one morning and thought something was horribly wrong with me. It took a little questioning from my mom that I figured out my head wasn’t hurting. I’d gotten so use to it that when I didn’t have one, I thought something was wrong. Chiropractic isn’t for everyone, but it has helped many people actually avoid surgery.

If this is the life y'all want to do, then we suggest do it now while y'all think you can. A lot of people buy RV lots in an RV community that they plan on staying at longterm when they can't travel as much or at all. Hope that helps and let us know how it goes for y'all!
