Definitely worked your butts off especially in that heat makes it so much harder and exhausting keep hydrated thanks for cool videos 👍 Look forward to watching harvesting
Cole could you and your dad send a slappy to Doug Larson he is in dire need of your expertise , it was just sad watching him trying to coax the legged ladies off his land
Your commitment to the Storeless Station is something to be proud of. I try to spend my money at small businesses when possible even if it costs a bit more. A small price to pay for the convenience of having a small local shop. I hope all of the people in your area support your endeavors. It is not about getting rich but about keeping the small towns alive.
Man...I grew up on a farm...I did fences and had 46 cows...and one bull...and I've NEVER seen the kind of work that you and Brian do. We grew hay..and corn for the chickens, but NOTHING like you do. I am very impressed.
That remark…….”skatin” was funny as sh….."! That self propelled grain conveyor has got to be the neatest invention ever! If it’s 96 degrees outside, that vin had to be at least 120 degrees- and Cole still says “ain’t farmin fun”, good attitude bud, even if it was sarcasm! Hang in there, it gets better!!
Mr Brian you are not nearly 60?! I'm going to have to see some ID with DOB for me to believe that! 😁 Cole we have a mice plague of epic proportions here in regional Victoria(Australia), to the point that farmer's n their family's have to sleep in their cars as the mice are literally eating through walls, they can't keep food unless it's literally in a steel box n mice are biting them in their beds!? Some farmer's have taken their kids to stay elsewhere just so the kids can eat, sleep n go to school in peace. It's horrid! I think we definitely need your mice flattening skills please! LOL! Good to see Uncle Jeff too. Take care! 😁🙏💙🐨 (Thought of a quick tagline for the store which could be used at the end if any advert, we love a good end tagline here. For example; Need vet supplies or rid critter of flies? We'll sort you/ya at Storla Station! Need some gas to go chasing that lass(as in heffer), We'll sort you/ya at Storla!)
Cole, memaw says that it appears like a lot of people got excited when you stepped in that cow patty. She don't know about them city folks ,don't they realize how else can you make tracks on a hot summer day. She's 94 and she said back in her day you kept your shoes for going to school and church. She said it kind of felt good kind of soft and squishy. On a cold morning it felt nice and warm for a little bit. LOL you all stay safe and blessed.
If you want too take care of your mosquitoes in your cow's drinking water put a quarter cup of olive oil in your cow's drink tank it will float on the top of the water and stop the mosquitoes from breathing at the surface and they will drown hope that helps you. Frank from Australia
I’m sure this works. Had an empty house with a pool with old old water, years old. Mosquitos were horrible! Another really ticked off homeowner went over and poured a couple cans of 40 weight motor oil in it. We just thought till he told us the city vector control was sick of hearing from all the neighbors and had drained it or were spraying weekly. It was a disaster when they were redoing the pool after it was bought and remodeled. 😳🤐
Thanks for another great video. It was interesting and enjoyable. First of all congratulations to Brian and Cole for being such a great team on the farm!!! They get it done!!! The fence you built is one fine fence. You two build a great fence. Done a fair amount myself but yours is far better. You have the right equipment so that makes a difference. Enjoyed the grain moving experience. Been there done that just like you. Working in a steel grain bin in hot weather is not fun. It is like a sauna. Oh boy. Wears you out quick. No quick way to load corn from bins into a truck. You had quite the setup there. Got the job done. Keeping augers going is always a job. You just know that several break downs will always happen. You are getting it done and that is what counts. Like the music set to pulling on the barb wire. Neat idea. Love Brian’s comment about 59 going on 60 and just kind of skating through work on the farm-love it Brian. Watch out Cole there is something to them dare words. First class play of words Brian. Cleaning out the stock tank. Been there done that. You take real good care of your cow herd. Good people you are. Guess that is it for now. Enjoyed the day with you both!!!! Take care and be safe. Looking forward to the next video. Thanks. The Iowa farm boy from years ago.
Brian , Cole and uncle Jeff always make my day! Daunting, long hard work on blistering days, …”bring it on” they say. Teaching us all a thing or two about good values. Thanks guys. 👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️
Oh Brian divulges his age!!! Brian sir I'm right there behind you at 53! Ugh I feel old and sore, in fact I am sore, a victim of a stupid chronic pain condition I acquired when I reached 45 yrs old. Ended my career. Now I just watch you work your aces off. Great video gentlemen!
I think I missed something...who owns the corn? And was it grown with the intention of being sold?---Regardless, this was an impressive view of the whole operations. Likewise, I have a newfound understanding of fencing!---Cole: That was a neet way of siphoning, not like how most of us did it at one time or another (for us, it was cleaning the fish tank!)
Augers scare the shit out of me after I read what can happen if you accidentally step in one. You guys walking around inside the bins as the augers run gives me the willies.
The young minister who married my husband & I, almost 32 yrs ago, was helping his father in law on the dairy farm. It was Jan ‘91, frozen augur on top 60+’ silo. He powered off unit, climb up to unclog. The power got turned on, not knowing he was up in there. He got called home to the Lord that day. I was in my car & it came on the news, I had to pull over, stopped & cried. He was only 27 with a 9 month & 2 yr old sons. It was only 11 months earlier he had married us. He touched a lot lives in his short ministry & to this day is so missed. His father in law sold the cows, took down all the silos & stopped farming. I know Peter is with the Lord, but I still get tears thinking about him & the family he left behind. Prayers to them & the first responders that day. Only the Lord knows the number of your days. He got an angel that day. 🙏
After purposefully walking through 💩💩 I question your drinking problem Cole. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 So basically Dad was saying that the slow bun was entirely going to become Coles issue. You guys crack me up. Thanks for sharing.
Omg I just LOVE the way you film, like everything from the steering wheel, the dirt on the windshield, crack in the side view mirrors, the tedious fencing, the view from under the axle, all of it stuff we who live on farms can relate to!! Its like a great photographer, who is able to catch those great pics! Very talented you are!! THANK you for providing us that need it and enjoy it, a real life day on the ranch!😊
Cole, you sound like my boys when I’m rooting about trying to bodge a machine. They always say ‘why don’t you buy a new one?’ When the penny drops you’ll be ready to take over from your dad. Keep up the hard work gents 👍
That post driver is cheating. Lol I put in miles of 5 strand fencing with a posthole digger and handheld post driver . Enjoy your videos .keep up the good work
Nothing easy about all it takes to keep our country fed and kudos for all you do to keep it running. Hard work isn't a stranger to our farmers for sure. God bless
I feel ya with the slow bins, my dad has 8 older then dirt sinking into the ground bins that are PAINFULLY slow and one bran new bin to that’s just a dream to clean out...
Just a comment here - my Daddy and his brother owned and ran a gas station many decades ago (mid 1950's). They had a garage too and a full-time mechanic. Daddy pointed to his belts hanging from nails above the floor of the garage, and in passing, one day told me that most garages don't hang them near the floor. He explained that heat rises, and heat will dry out your belts and hoses, making them crack and be worthless when you need them. Same for anything else hung high and made out of rubber. So he hung them above the floor, where the cooler air always was, then never having dried out, cracked belts. And as Brian would say, "That's all I'm gonna say about that". lol
City slickers never think about buying or selling so much corn. Any idea where it's going to? Well, duh! I'm sure you must. Got my Sorla Station shirt!! Very cool. Praying the store does well. 💯🙏🏻🙏🏻
Cole, use your new welder and a electric pump. Quicker and gets it done better. I believe you can run a electric pump off of your welder. Love your videos. Take care and may the Lord God bless you and your family, especially Jeff.
Is the corn from uncle jeff? Then he is making good money now, mayby he can donate some bugs to storla station, thanks and greetings from a Dutch dairyfarmer
Just a thought. The last 10 years or so, we have had to stretch the wire (yes, Red Brand) for 2-3 days before attaching it. Then it'll stay tight for a good while. We'll get 2 or 3 cranks the 2nd day and at least 1 the 3rd. We learned that from the Amish. Wire just isn't the same.
I used high tensile jacks on barb wire. Leave the staples and clips loose so that it can slide. You can maintain a nice looking fence with minimal trouble.
You need to put some catfish in your water troughs. Add new one in the spring and fry "em in the fall. Clean Troughs and a good fish fry. Goes good with Busch Light.
You guys certainly build a nice fence. And it never fails when your in a hurry to get something done it never goes good. Great video see you next time.
They do but I wonder does the wire go on the side of the post that the cattle stay on? Clearly that thought is mute if they stay on both sides of the fence.
HELL YEA 6:29 Always a Great video when BLUE goes for a walk. But I always heard it was bad to put the leash on the trailer hitch, just in case you drive off.... Safety First.
We have special travelling folk here in the u.k who are expert at removing red diesel from machinery using the syphon method, there seems no limit to the amount they can remove so if you need any tips on speedy syphoning Cole just get in touch with them.
When I lived in Wyoming for 12 years….I was used to putting equipment away clean like you guys do…but they don’t keep anything clean or put things away….Totally different…, That’s all I’m going to say…
Starla Station, ya'll could quadruple the business by hiring Tiffany as manager. She's smart as heck, quick thinker. Could put in a small lunch counter restaurant, farmers would drive miles to eat and look at her beautiful smile. Bet she is a top gun cook, she shoots like a top gun. Make the house special Sonne Farms Prime Prime Rib samichs, I'd drive from the West Coast for one of her specials. No bull Tighten her up Cole, until she sings like the fat lady, the wire that is. That heat and humidity are killers on us old men. Could see the sweat squirting out of your dad's armpits. We had a week over 105d F here in June. One day 117d F and 60% humidity. Couldn't drink water fast enough. jesus, I'm glad my haying and heavy farm work days are over in the heat.
I could never get “fencing pliers” to work in those #*$@#%* clips. I had better luck with just plain old pliers, however, what kind did you say yours were?
how does your farm (ranch?) have so many flat tires? (insert appropriate expletive, or say OH MYLANTA! ) but it's incredible how many flat tires happen to your good family. I hope it's polite to compliment you on your lucky stars that your intern is patient enough to be on the videos, riding in tractors, etc. You lucky so n so, it's not common in my experience, to find an intern that not only doesn't mind target practice, but is a damn good shot! Would I also be polite to ask as to your interns resume? FFA? 4H? Farm upbringing? Can your intern be your camera operator, truck driver for the combine operations, and comedy partner on screen? Is your intern in college, or already a worker bee? Just curious, I suppose because you are damn lucky to have an intern, and since we subscribers are somewhat familiar with your history, and your dads, and your farm/ranch's history, it would be quite nice to be informed a little, of your interns resume/history, if, again, if that would be polite of me to ask. If not, I certainly do not wish to be pushy or impolite.
There's a farm store nearby that you could take that conveyer tire to for fixin. Storla (sp.) I think? Cole. you heard Brian he's skating to retirement. Get a price to fix/upgrade that loadout auger. I'm tearing my hair out and this is only my second year with this complete waist of 3 mens' lives. Put Tiffany on it. There's making due and then there's this? Yes, it's easy from the cheap seats.
Cole, I'm surprised your Dad din't know about the fix for slow augers! This guy in Australia surely has some friends in the US of A who can come help you out! See how he can even get solidified concrete out of the mixer! Getting' corn out of that been will be a snap! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ag-XOnBwLSU.html 🤪
They started shelling the corn on our farm today here in Western Kentucky. He got the corn in the ground really early this spring and we got rain pretty regular. Our corn is averaging 202.7 bu/ac. He still has one good sized field to shell, I expect the average will go up some.
