The Chaos Dwarves were a fun faction for Warhammer Fantasy by Games Workshop and with the imminent release of the new Chaos Dwarves DLC for Warhammer Total War 3 about to be released, we thought it would be really fun to paint up an old Chaos Dwarf Citadel model in the style of the day. Yup, that means the 'Red Era' and of course, Goblin Green Bases!

I'm glad I started collecting these boys back in 2005 when the models were still relatively easy, and cheaper to get. I have 30 blunderbusses sitting half done in a box somewhere

The goblin green takes me back. I remember I took a pot down to my local B&Q and got a tin of mat emulsion mixed to match it. I then used this to paint up a 4 x4 sheet of chipboard which would then be placed on top of my folks kitchen table. Those were the days. 😊

I see Chorfs and I immediately click. I was about to buy the range, had it all in my FW cart after a decade of looking at them, and the next day they were gone. As much as I revere big hats, I do love the modern look like the fire glaives. Total warhammer has really threaded the needle on their looks. Though beards should always be curly.

Warhammer miniatures from this era were so cartoony looking, especially Dark Elves and Chaos Dwarfs.

I love these retro paint jobs Duncan, takes me back to when I first got into the hobby in the mid 90s. Would love to see more, perhaps a bigger model (Egrimm Van Horstmann on Baudros!!)

You remind me of the incredible surprise I had, not that many years ago. I went to a geek convention. Small scale, if not very small scale (in France), but delightful atmosphere.
