In this video I finally paint up my Warhammer Fantasy 4th Edition Chaos Dwarf Lord on Great Taurus. #warhammer Link to my previous Chorf adventure: • PAINTING WARHAMMER THE... Music by Karl Casey @ White Bat Audio.
I love the videos you have been making, with time I know you will become one of the big hobby channels! Its really refreshing to see old fantasy models being made instead of everything being all about 40k!
Thank you so much dude! I really appreciate it! Fantasy is pretty special and definitely deserves some of the spot light. I’m glad you’re enjoying the videos so far 🍻🙌
Great model with a paintjob that does it justice. While never a chaos dwarves fan the stocky, geometric, regimented dwarf aesthetic of their physique, armour and weapons has always been a favorite of mine and lends itself so well to the densely packed style of old fantasy warhammer.
Gorgeous, I always thought Chaos Dwarfs were awesome and dreamed about getting an army of them someday, then they got rid of them in 6th ed I really hope they'll bring them back at some point, they're so characterful and unique
Praise Hashut, indeed! A worthy offering to the Father of Darkness! I love how the lord ended up; the hat is magnificent! The red skin really pops as well! Finished painting Zhatan the Black myself, and you're inspiring me to push the colours further on all my Chaos Dwarfs. Masterfully painted! But what comes next? Curses, I have nothing to request! I suppose I can only wait and hope the collection expands with another excellent video.
Haha thanks so much mate! I’m very happy you like it and it is Dark Father approved 👹🙌 let me know how you go with that Zhatan 👍 Don’t stress, the collection will only grow. I’m on the lookout for a Lammasu next 😎⚡️
Great job. Also, thank the gods of OCD you painted the horns correctly. It seems like everyone from Golden Daemon winners to GW themselves paint hons with the dark bits at the base and that's not how horn grows/looks!
For pinning to bases I use a thumb tack, the flat head of the tack gives ample gluing contact and is a rock solid pin. You may need to flatten the head of the thumb tack a little.
Tip for doing a even brighter red with two more step, after doing all the steps you done do a even brighter smaller dot highlights on the places you want to be most defined, and then take 1 part fleshtearers red and 3 parts contrast medium and have a thin layer of that over all the red parts, repeat if nesesery. Will give you the deepest nicest red. Great video by the way😁
Great work. These quirky vintage chaos dwarf models have brought me back to the hobby after a hiatus of more than 10 years. You're right about the models being pretty rare and expensive, but there's something about their character that makes them so appealing to me. I've been scouring UK Ebay to find them. Thanks for the painting inspiration.
Thanks so much mate! There is nothing else like them, they’re fun to paint and really rewarding to look at when they are done. Good luck with the eBay hunt! 🙌🍻
Thanks mate! I’m glad you’re enjoying the content so far 🍻 I’ve been on the look out for anything dwarf recently and slayers are on the list 👍 Witch Elves could be fun!
Beautiful. I had a box of Chaos Dwarfs from before they were an army, and had this Aesthetic. The ones I had were a box of like 8 dudes, one of them had 2 Heads. I'm not even sure what army they were for, but they were for very early WHFB I believe. I must have bought them around 1989/90 I think. I just remember them being called Chaos Dwarfs, and I got them as my Friends older brother had them, and we were both into Hero Quest. I think they were the first metal minis I ever owned, only just having Hero Quest before this. I can actually remember my first, 3 boxes of Minis. Chaos Dwarfs in around 1980/90, then a box of plastic Skaven a few years later. Then my 3rd was a box of Deathwing Terminators for Dark Angels, who were my first 40k faction. I got into Eldar not long after that though. This was in the early 90's, too. like 1990-92.
Sooooo cooooool !!! I stripped painted my so very old scryre acolyte to paint them brand new and beautiful, thanks to you ! Soon to be ! Thanks a lot mate, content is awesome !
Your army takes shape - looks nice. Great work on this classic 4th. edition model - in classic color scheme from that age, well executed. The blue contrast works wonders. Some day the evil short ones may even get an official rules set :-)
@@anvilofdoomminiatures Uh! Lovely! In that case, might I request another painting video? :-) Now you just need to get your mitts on some Hobgoblins on wolves!
Great job with painting. From long experience when you drill holes in metal and plastic base better use poxipol instead of superglue. It always works with heavy figures like metal zombie dragon for example.
And it turned out simply amazing! Appreciate the way you name the colors every time you use them. It's truly fun to watch you do your magic on those classic models. Pewter isn't to be afraid of, it's a bit chonky but still holds great detail.
Cheers from Finland! I love Your videos. All the old mini’s hit that nostalgia spot in my mind. Keep up the good work! One thing I noticed in all Your videos, is that You use very small brushes. I dont know If thats Your thing, but I watched some tutorial that adviced to use as large brush as possible, with a sharp tip. I changed to bigger brushes and took better care of them and it upped my painting a lot and I think its faster also, because the bigger brush holds more paint and I dont need to go back to the pallet so often. This was not intended as s critique, but something to think about. You are far better painter than me, so I’m in no place to critizise.
Thanks so much mate ! I’m glad you like the videos so far! 🙌🍻 yeah I’ve been told that a few times about my small brushes but I’m just very used to it now and I don’t feel comfortable with bigger brushes 😂 I’ve tried upping my bush size a few times and I felt like I struggled. Thanks for the tip though! I appreciate it 🤝
Thanks mate! I do throw them up on my Instagram if you want to check them out over there 😊 I’ll eventually make a discord or something where I’ll share them. Stay tuned!
Bit of a random comment, but your resemblance to young Anthony Hopkins from A Bridge Too Far is uncanny... Sorry for the randomness! Love the vids! Just had to point it out for this thumbnail especially!
The true glory days of WHFB. I'm still hopeful GW may do some kinda re-release with the Old World. I know there's nothing official yet, but I'm optimistic
Thanks mate! Glad you like it! 🙌 Mainly because I’m blind haha but with the tops of the wings it helped a bit as the base black was a little opaque and let some of those details come through.
@@anvilofdoomminiatures no problem. purple tone from AP is great for that job. I did my Great Taurus this way too. Red gets way richer with purple wash.
Magnificent paint job! So glad you got one of your top ten models so quickly! Also, thanks for going over your pinning method, I will use some of those clever tricks!
