I have a similar (Larger) crease in my tailgate and and all the body shops want to sell me a tailgate and pay to get it painted. I may try to get it out myself after watching this vid.

Most shops just want to change parts ,it's true. You can do it. All the info you need is on my channel or RU-vid . You can always replace it if you have too. Let me know if you do it and send pics it could inspire others okpaintworx@gmail.com

Great work! I have same dent on the top of tailgate. I was looking for DIY to fix it and came across your clip. I’m not comfortable drilling hole on my tailgate though.

Some time that's the only way , it's a pain to have to weld them up.

I have a 2009 Toyota Tacoma with a huge dent in the same spot. The only difference is there’s a plastic strip at the top of the tailgate that was dented along with the tailgate. The dent has rusted but it hasn’t made the metal weak and break. How do you suggest I take care of it?

Does this work on bad dents that you can't even open the tailgate? Also what is that tool you're using will hammering?

Hammer and dolly . Should work on larger dents .

how do you get this paint? is this tuxedo black or metallic black? i have a 2010 that has the sparkles and i was wondering how to get the paint, is there a paint code? or do i just call an automotive paint shop

What air compressor do you recommend for this type of painting?

I use a larger compressor that produces 16cfms . You can use a smaller compressor with the right paint gun. A low cfm paint gun for small compressors . You could also use Aerosol paint and clear coat.
