Yeah after using sonax perfect finish I realized what I was missing. Came off so clean. Smooth polishing the whole time. Took out swirling great. I need about a quarter of product in comparison of other brands. Finished out with a yellow rupes pad flawlessly! I really feel it lives up to all the hype. Thanks for the great video.

Wow, amazing products from Sonax. I only have from them their Alcantara cleaner and definitely nothing like it. I have the Meguiars products because they were readily available at Advanced Auto. I have purchased the pink one from Extreme Solutions that does all too and love it. Great that Sonax is water based and does that amazing job. Xoxo from Puerto Rico 👍🇵🇷

Hi Phil ! Great video once again . The Sonax Cut Max and the Sonax Perfect finish gave me fantastic results on a older car a 1998 Black Lexus GS 400 . I used the Lake Country C C S Yellow pad's only with a Rotary polisher , for both the Cut Max and Perfect finish changing out several pad's in the process . I wanted to save as much clear coat as possible on a car 25 yrs. old . Then finished off with the Turtle Wax Hybrid Ceramic coating spray . Now 4 months later still looks great after several wash's . Thank you

I have both (Sonax products) as well including the same microfiber pads but I live in Texas (south East) near the water and about a month ago in my garage, I did CutMax, 3DOne, and Griots FCC to see which would be the easiest to work with (on Ford F-150) and get good results. Out of those 3 the CutMax was the most difficult to wipe off and would streak although it just would take a little longer to get those out. The 3DOne & GriotsFCC wiped off like a dream. I did 2 step even though I didn’t really have to with 3DOne and Uro-Fiber pad. I used MF pad with CutMax and GriotsFCC. Overall all 3 were excellent but I’d say CutMax was the less user friendly for me of the 3 although it wasn’t difficult per se. It just needed some extra elbow grease with some CarPro Eraser. I agree on the priming...it’s really not needed even though I do it sometimes as I’m not thinking but most of the time with MF pads, I don’t prime and you should never prime a foam pad (absolute waste of time for sure with foam IMO).
@MirandaDetailing

Hi. Gloss is so subjective. I honestly can’t really see the difference between any polishes and gloss levels. As long as it’s glossy, that’s all I see. Pretty much any polish paired with a medium pad will remove a 2 year coating.

It was protocol for a specific type of process, compound, and pad. I believe it was from Kevin Brown's participation in the development of the Meguiar's DA Microfiber Correction System. He also popularized it through his personal process with M105 on foam, and later (after the system was formally introduced) microfiber pads. Some of the newer lubrication systems don't require pad priming as they are more fluid, and carry the abrasives around better. Priming can lead to oversaturation, excessive dusting, excessive heat, difficult wipe off, etc. Even Meguiar's is getting away from priming with their newest compound M110.
@MirandaDetailing
@MirandaDetailing 3 года назад
Yes. That’s correct. Plus I believe some people have certain techniques and tricks that work for them, but not for everyone. I’ve learned a lot from Kevin Brown and Larry from AMMO. But then I tweak what I learn to fit my needs and style. 😎👍🏼

@@MirandaDetailing It was about 60 degrees and cloudy. I used 4 pea sized dots to prime the pad then 3 same sized dots afterwards. I was using brand new pads I got with the polisher I just bought. I'm guessing they aren't expensive ones but the were soft and thick. Any ideas?
@MirandaDetailing

Mmm interesting. I have had some polishes dust on me that people claim don’t dust. Sometimes it’s just weird variables that can’t be controlled. You could also try misting water on the pad, very little mist. It helps keep the polish from drying out. But sometimes dusting just happened. Also blowing the pads out after each section helps.

Do you know if Sonax Perfect Finish can be used over top of PPF?
@MirandaDetailing

Hi. Yea you can use pretty much any polish on PPF as long as you don’t use pressure or do long slow passes that can build up heat.

I don't know what I did wrong.... I tried Jescar Correcting Compound ad Perfect Finish with lousy results. Flex 3401,orange ccs pad...4 pea sized dots. By the third pass,stuff was flying off the pad like crazy . I tried a chemical guys pad as well(orange) along with an orange force pad. NG. Perfect Finish did the same thing with a new chemical guys white pad...4 dots,force white pad,and a ccs white pad . Pads are 6.5 inch. Vehicle was a 1999 Honda Odyssey. I switched to 3DOne/ccs orange pad ..zero issues. Any ideas or thoughts on why stuff was flying off the pads? Thanks!

@MirandaDetailing 3 года назад
@@J1Z06 Woah that's weird! Was it foam particles or polish that was flying off? I haven't tried the JEscar Compound so I can't speak for that, but I haven't run into issues with Perfect Finish before. Maybe it could have been the pads that were doing something weird.
@J1Z06

@@MirandaDetailing Definitely foam particles. I tried Perfect Finish again on a brand new ccs 6.5” white pad. I loaded it up pretty well. Zero issues. I guess the four dot method doesn’t work “For Me”. The level of gloss is crazy. Great product. I’ll have to try priming the pad with Jescar. Thanks for replying, Phil!!

Best practice is to prime your pad whatever you use. Pads never prime themselves well that’s why we need to prime them. Cut max was my favorite but not anymore. By priming your pad you get the maximum performance of your pads.
@MirandaDetailing
@MirandaDetailing 2 года назад
Nah. Used to do that but found it made no difference at all. Waste of time and product for me. If others like to do that, and think they see a difference is fine, but in the real world I have not seen any benefits.
