This effect is published - buried in print - in John's book, Mentalisimo. Despite the vitriol expressed by some over the price, it's the method and instruction you're buying, not the gaff. John's books and lecture notes are a treasure trove of useable, audience-tested effects. One of John's hallmarks is streamlining and simplifying plots and effects without diminishing the magic. The younger market prefers single tricks with DVD or download instruction to books. Oh well. Come on folks; magician's, perhaps more than most consumers, should be well aware of the phrase caveat emptor. It is a good trick.
Great idea! I perform the club sandwich which is very similar except it doesn't use a blank card. I'd rather just have a spectator choose a card sign it, control it to the top and continue with the trick. I think in the real world having that blank card maybe too risky and The spectators will want to check out the joker's because the blank card had to go somewhere!
Does anybody have a real world performance that they could share? does this work in the real world? I've been performing club sandwich and never get questions I'm intrigued by this trick but I don't want to perform this and then ruin all the other sandwich effects that I do because of it
Seems too obvious. It will be so much better if all the cards are white (blank) at the end. I have a similar effect. The only pro I found is that you don't need sleight of hand which I use while perform this effect.
