What mixture do you use for the glazes? Do you just use turpentine to thin or do you add some sort of medium with your pigments? I love your portraits! So wonderful that you're doing all the styles with your son!
Haha thanks! All 3 sons! Each in a different style! I used acrylic paint for Rembrandt so the only thing I used with the paint was water, just to thin it enough to have a translucent glaze. Before varnish, I used a crackling medium, just to give an ancient look.
I really like your painting instructions. Do you think, maybe, that you could do a series of "How To" videos at a much slower pace, step-by-step? There is so much that I don't know and you speed through the steps so quickly or they are skipped over entirely. You are a very good teacher, so pretend there are people like me in your audience who know very little and want to learn. Thank you.
Hey Charles, thanks a lot: I will try to be a bit slower and detailed from now on. These videos, maybe more than step by step guides, are meant to be inspiration with a bit of guidance. Everyone’s painting is different, after all. But yes, I will try my best in the future! Thanks
@@mygeekfamilycotton Thank you. You do inspire me in both your techniques and knowledge. I do agree with you. I guess I get frustrated with myself hahaha.. Thanks again.
Hi Stephanie, I actually used my regular palette: Yellow Ochre, Vermillion, Cerulean Blue (for Rembrandt, I used it mostly to mix as a way to darken warm colors), Burnt umber, white and a little bit of black. Hope this helps!
¡Hola! Sí, sólo uso pintura a base de agua (acrílica aquí y acuarela/gouache en algunos otros trabajos) porque es más fácil cuando pinto en mi pequeño apartamento. ¡Gracias por ver mis videos!
