This went really well considering some other videos I've seen of people trying to DIY the PPF. Patience and having the room to do it correctly looks to be key. I regret not doing it to mine when I first got it and before the ceramic coating. This would be worth doing for my next one.

@@scottysize I love the Model 3 in silver! We got a red one in August 2018, but maybe would’ve chosen the silver if we had known that it was being discontinued. We had a silver car recently, but never a red like Tesla’s.

Great job! Want to do it to my MYP but cannot find the colored PPF that I want, found a vinyl colored that is perfect, might get it and try. What are the 2 bottles that you used? What exact solutions are those?

Excellent job, Erik! I realize that this demonstration was to show us that you can protect the paint by installing your own PPF, but obviously it’s not going to be the same as a high end shop that removes most of the trim and never shows any exposed edges. Your covered paint is protected either way. Did your film have a cutout for the chrome Tesla logo on the front hood?

As someone who went from diy ppf to opening a shop i can tell you it's not as ez as it looks. There are so many tips to be said here that training helps with. It's hard to capture on camera where the issues are. Precuts are nice but i can buy a whole roll for the price of those. Overall nice job.

Honestly, what I did looks better than what some friends have shown me happened to their car from professional shops. Some shops would be better because they will wrap every single edge etc, but those shops are also the most expensive. For the price, its a great deal IMO.

@TeslaInventory, this guy is probably someone who does PPF for a living and is trying to ensure job security with the criticism. You did a bang up job. I’ve been contemplating doing this to my fun car. This video was incredibly insightful. Excellent work
