Naomi enjoys painting the Stygies VIII inspired colour scheme of her Ad Mech onto her Sulphurhounds for Warhammer 40,000 as she plays with her new brushes.

Wow. Oh God. Where do I even start? This video...Was great as they always are! Keep up the great work Naomi! 😁😜 I love these space cowboys and their heretical Stygies ways. My Astral Knights are going to purge these heretics someday! Also I will remember this the next time you tell me to highlight my models lol.

Your tutorials have had an amazing effect on me :-) I'm naturally right handed, yet have found myself painting left handed while watching and painting along with your videos :-O I actually paint BETTER left handed than I do with my right hand now. I'm LOVING the new skills you've inspired in me unknowingly, and am now your devoted painting slave, should you ever need one :-D

Talk about coincidence I just finished the last 3 of 9 Serberys Raiders I was working on myself today. That is a great colour scheme, as stygies VIII in my head from seeing it in the old skitarii codex was always black first then red my default has been to prime black then build on that. I forget that with so much metal priming leadbletcher is a option.

I like the scheme and the resoults, look great to me; but when i had to paint anything in red and gold as base scheme... i always used the Tamiya red XF7, and the Model Master shinny gold for the base scheme. I was very pleased with the final resoult and everyone that seen it agreed; maybe you wanna try it one day, anyway, i think you did a great job and i like your scheme and paints choose.

Owning five of those, I suggest using blue tac putty as masking and airbrush it before doing the details with paintbrushes

That highlighting technique you used for the airbrushed metal is called Zenithal Highlighting. It's super useful!

Thanks for the warning to avoid using the contrast paints with sable hair brushes. I have a whole set coming and it could have been a disaster.

Wait...so will contrast paints destroy other brushes as well? Is there something to look for to make sure a brush is ok for contrast paints? I bought my first pot of contrast paint recently, and I’d rather not kill a brush with it. I’m hard enough on brushes as it is!

Thus far, my other brushes, highend or low end, have been unharmed by contrast paint. That includes Citadel brushes, Army Painter brushes, Brokentoad, Leonhardy 🤔 all those brands have handled contrast paint without issue

@@swordnsteele712 That's great to hear! The squidmar brushes didn't look all that unusual, which is what had me worried it might be more widespread. I guess it's just his proprietary squid bristles that don't like contrast paint!

Keeping them nice and clean helps, also brush conditioner helps a lot as well.

Now that I've tried them out, I think they are great! They die pretty quickly, but they can really pack a punch to infantry, and can quickly snag an objective so your opponent has to deal with them :)

There’s loads of other mini Wargames out there, you should check out infinity, marvel crisis protocol, bolt action, there is a Star Wars themed one that I can’t remember the name of too. Of course if you just want to paint stuff there’s nothing to stop you, I’d highly recommend it, I paint nearly everyday and haven’t played a single game yet (mostly due to Covid)
