Say more with less, learn how to paint a simple barn in watercolor and just have fun. Reference photo by Bobbye Thompson, Watercolor demonstration by Birgit O'Connor.
I love your tutorial. I am 80 years old and new to watercolor. The fact that you tell us exactly what colors you are using and everything else you tell us. I am looking forward to doing this painting. Look forward to seeing your other tutorials. Also, thank you for speaking so slowly and clearly. Thank you so much.
This was great!...A friend sent me a picture of a sunset with a barn in front similar to this. The sunset came out okay, but the barn was horrible. I made all the mistakes you talked about on how & why not to paint the barn as seen!...Thanks again!
Thank you so much for this lesson. Your a very good teacher and your instructions were simple yet thorough. I painted my first landscape and barn and it didn't come half bad. Do you think it's worthwhile to paint same lesson again trying to improve or is it better to keep going forward with new work?
+Lorraine Foglia Hi practice is always good and you will learn something new every time. If you like paint it again or move on to something new, it just has to do with how you feel.
Thank you for the demo. I own your book. In this demo, you start out showing a dry brush technique but I do not see your use of it in the video. Why is that?
+painting55 She did use the dry brush technique on the shadowed side of the barn; but she then covered the dry brush strokes with wet paint later. Hope this helps!
