The job took 8 Gallons of flat finish shwerwin williams paint. ($35 each) (Basalt powder color) A 3 inch brush to cut in the corners ($17) Three 3/8 naps (smooth/semi smooth) $6 The total job was just a hair over $300, labor is mine so no money spent there, just my time. Thank you all for watching, I really apreciate it that you guys support my little channel.
I hope the paint fumes dont bother you. Looked like you had good ventilation. Did the company correct their errors with the mini split yet? Stay well my friend.
Yes and No on the mini split. They came out yesterday but didnt have a cover to hide all the cables. I had my electrical inspection today so after the power company comes out we'll see how it works out, once I have power.
@Susan Anderson Interior paint doesn't really smell now days. If you still have problems with smell even with water based paint look for low VOC (volatile organic compounds) type paint. It costs few extra bucks more.
Textured on walls is a great way to hide imperfections on your drywall. I like smooth too. Be interesting to see how the mini split system works out. Thank you for building affordable housing.
I appreciate the practical approach you use on your homes. I'm getting ready to start building a house myself and I'm wondering if you use any type of interior air barrier before you install the wood on your ceiling? Keep up the good work!
It all depends what kind of paint you use. Some paint is a mix of primer and paint, if you get quality paint you can go directly on new drywall with no issues. (keep in mind you have to make sure you take the drywall dust off/clean it)
Like the idea of walls & ceiling same color. Gives me hope . I'm planning on painting my tiny home 800 sq. ft. this fall. Might just steal your color choice tho . . . hope you don't mind. Love watching the progress TFS
Great time saving tips. Have you ever used a Power Roller (Wagner for instance?) Made a huge difference for me when i painted the house, didn't have to bend over as much, did use more paint though.
Nice work but brother you need to invest in a POLE. all that up and down crap is gonna wear your back and knees out. a paint pole saves time money and back issues....
I have one, just not keen on using it. I feel more comfortable with my set up, plus I get some exercise that way. Small homes are not bad, if it was a big house then I would have to rethink that.
