In this video I work on the last few lures needed to complete my first "Production Order" for my buddy Bobby to hang on the tackle wall of his shop, the Smith River Trading Post. I am really still just learning the craft of painting lures with an Airbrush and am eternally grateful to my "brother from another mother" in helping me get this small business venture off the ground and giving me a place to showcase my efforts.
This time I try to paint a Rainbow Trout pattern while learning the art of using a Paint Pen when it comes to adding spots to these trout lures and of course you learn from your mistakes and I make a doozy. But no worries, that one will hang on my wall as another example of a new pattern painted.
I can only get better with time and practice but come along and see how I do it.
Thanks for watching and as always..... Peace

Looking good Don. Thanks for including the botched paint job and not editing it out, nice to see I'm not alone. Bob Ross often says we don't make mistakes, we have happy accidents. I'm willing to wager he's never painted a fishing lure, lol.

Thanks Pat ! You are definitely not alone ! Mistakes are all a part of the learning, no matter what I’m doing you’re gonna see the good and the bad.

Looks great Don, and agree with others that it is good to include the mistakes. I will email you with an update on the Fire Tiger

Thanks Sean , you know after following me for these last few years, you can expect to see the good, the bad and the ugly on my channels, I don’t try to sugar coat things and always try to learn from my mistakes and pass on what I learn. Looking forward to that Fire Tiger update.

Snow, oh my goodness, I will quite on the rain then hahha. John Ames, That is awesome, what a fun project, that is pretty cool. and he will get some awesome lures as well. Stocking up the store, that is a good sign. Good for you brother. Will the kayak tournaments get cancelled for snow? If not the will be some cold fishing. Ouch yes sir, when you was pressing that I was like, I wonder if it like some I have used and all the sudden it will pour out. Sorry brother. My uses them with the leather, I think your lures look great. Hahhaa, I have a wall of stuff, that is just for me as well as a wall of leather stuff too hahhah. Yes sir, it takes for ever to dry. Sorry about the shoveling and the amount of snow. Goodness brother, that is a lot of snow. I hope you have a blessed week Dale

Hahaha well Dale, if you missed it I said in the beginning, this was recorded back in early April. I recorded several lure painting videos before I decided to start up the new channel so if you don’t see the RaggedEdgeLureWorks sign over my shoulder then this was recorded back then and just scheduled out over the next several coming weeks. No worries about the snow , it’s all a part of living up here ….like it or not. Hope you have a great upcoming week.
