Let's paint one of my favourite subjects - a snow-capped mountain.
Materials used:

Baohong Master's Choice 100% cotton 300gsm cold press paper, 18 x 26 cm (7 x 10 in)
PAINTS:
French Ultramarine (Winsor&Newton)
Indigo (Art Spectrum)
Manganese Blue Hue (Daniel Smith)
Burnt Sienna (Daniel Smith)
Raw Sienna Light (Daniel Smith)
Burnt Umber (Daniel Smith)
Buff Titanium(Daniel Smith)
Aussie Red Gold (Daniel Smith)
Lavender (Daniel Smith)
BRUSHES:

I live in the Swedish mountain range and the mountains are so close to my heart. I dont know how to explain it, but when I'm not at home for a while I can almost feel that the mountains are calling me. It's like a strange force, a deep love for the nature and all the beauty here. It really touches me in my heart and spine. When I watch you paint I feel the same way - you have an amazing and unique gift to really touch people's hearts, and your paintings are calling me the same way as the mountains and nature around here. They are "just" paintings, but they really connect to me and I can "feel" them in my soul. Amazing ❤

Thank you for such a beautiful comment, I am so touched by your words ❤️ I believe there is nothing like the mountains - they have such power, such energy, such a strong call for us. What a beautiful place you live in - I only see the mountains every few years… And I miss them all the time. So I paint my own mountains, dreaming of all the precious moments when I stood in awe, surrounded by snow-capped peaks.

The dramatic sky with your choice of the blue shades and the snow effect of the mountains gives the viewer the feeling that the mountain air is heavy with coldness. Your paintings are consistently brilliant as you actually have control over this medium which is quite difficult to harness. The sign of great ability using watercolors. Beautiful as always.

I agree, the warmer weather makes travelling so much more comfortable. And New Zealand in summer is equally is stunning. I've visited New Zealand in all four seasons, and it just never disappoints. I find it so lovely to live in the warmer climate and visit the colder regions for a week or two just to experience something different 😊 Tassie is magic, and we have just returned from a holiday there!

Thank you so much! It’s a bit of both. I often look at photos (my own ones) before I paint the mountains, just to get inspired and to study the shapes and the light, but I do not normally look at photos when I paint as I find it restrictive, and it also distracts me from the painting process.

Lovely painting Tone and composition really ❤, if i may ask if you don't mind: the trees of the left and right aren't too contrasting in scale? being at same level and if you could better contrast the white path leadind to the white of montain what would you do

Thank you so much. Great question about the trees! When I paint, I am not guided by realism much, as in I don't think about how believable the trees look, but I think about the balance, the rhythm, and the variety within my composition. Stronger contrast between the sizes of the trees make the painting more captivating to me, it is more exciting to look at. I do apologize but I don't think I understand the question about the white path...
