noticed you didnt use primer on the carburator is there a reason?

Its like cleaning them with spray paint! lol I've got a midnight special, came out of the factory painted so there's no issue with painting carbs. If you want to be pedantic then strip them down a little more and plug the holes with tape. I actually etched primed mine when restoring them to help the paint stick better.

Love all your videos! Super interesting and helpful. My question for you is where exactly are you sourcing parts from? I have a 95 vt1100 and I’m having trouble finding parts as Honda sometimes doesn’t carry what I am looking for. Maybe this was a more popular bike but hopefully you have some information!

Nice video. I noticed when you painted the carbs I don’t think you used etch primer. Is that because the Wheel paint doesn’t need a primer on aluminium? I am a complete new by so forgive the stupid question please. I’m stressing over a pair of CB500F grab handles and this will be my first attempt at spraying over some scratches on them.

What about the springs at the carburetor? Did you get any problems with them getting stuck after the paint? I'm thinking about painting my carbs too ;)

Painting carburetors is never a good idea.

I've got an S&S Super E on my 2000 Hugger, seriously thinking about going back to its stock carb, having it powder coated as close to a brass color as possible and rejetting it for higher performance.

Loving the build! I don't see a blast cabinet in your garage. It's the best $100 you will ever spend. I use mine for everything.

I will clean,rebuild,rejet and tune inline 2 for 150 and 4 carbs for 300$,and singles for 150$

I feel like the bike is ruined as I'm a retired amateur road racer and for me it's always been about the handling but to each his own.

soak carbs in pinesol and hot water. lots of garbage and filth comes off after letting them sit for a few days in it. gas will kill the paint on them. you should def invest in a parts cleaner. I'm about to also

not the way to paint carbs. disassemble them, and use proper paint.

I'm sorry but this is not the way it should be done. Believe me I'm far away from being a hater ( in fact its my first kinda negative comment) but things like painting the engine or the carburetors should not be done this way or you'll simply do a s...t job which will last maybe for one but no more then two seasons... because it look nice it doesn't mean it is done properly.
