I actually liked the color scheme for all 3, though I think the lack of time to complete the last one caused it to feel incomplete (surprise). The goblin looked pretty rad, the middle mini actually looked pretty nice to me with just a touch of surrealism, and the last one just needed more highlights as emil mentioned. The purple looks great as armor, it just needed some other colors to break it up a bit, some accents.

Yes, Emil and most of the other RU-vidrs miniatures painters are far better painters than most of the community. But they inspire me to not only paint miniatures, but work at improving those paint jobs and my skills. We are all on our own personal journeys. People like Emil encourage others, myself included, to possibly try a new journey or to see if they can go farther in that journey. So while I may never be as good as they are, it makes me want to try to be better than I currently am.

I actually find this so helpful since you can see where the highlights are so clearly since they are in different colors. Really shows where you decided to put the highlights where normally its so subtle.

Just use black primer on the mini, put a light over it and take photos, move the light around till u r satisfied with the placement of the highlighits... u can even filter the photo to add contrast to be sure.

I would love to see you add to the current paint job to improve it without using glasses, to see what you can turn it into... but you have to keep the current base you have already and build on top of that :)

I think this is actually useful for beginners so they can better see where you put the colors. It's easier to see the spots you put the highlights and how you build the gradients if the colors of the shadow and highlights are wildly different from each other.

I'd say it's a great challenge, because there's no that suncoscious need to properly match colours, especially if you know what you're doing. And that allows to get you mixes that works surprisingly well, despite being considered "weird" normally, giving out unique finish

This is awesome, I really enjoyed the last one! I'd love to see another start to finish miniature paint. No challenges or anything, just you talking over what you're doing and why. Feel like it's been a while since anything simple like that and it's what a lot of us originally subbed for! Love these type videos too of course :)

Could be cool to let Emil pick his paints, and then lose track of them on the palette and on the mini ! A bit closer to what us colorblinds experience. And then we will see if his color theory knowledge is enough to save the mini ! Very nice video as always

I think the tree looks fine and adds to the dark swamp atmosphere but the steps gotta be gray or brown like rock/sand/dirt. I like the armor and how it turns out looking dark without being black.

For the next go around on this challenge, maybe look at converting a room to red light only (think operations room on a warship or submarine - google image search is your friend) - probably easier on the eyes

Colorblindness is a spectrum, so there are many types of colorblindness. You can find many types of colorblind glasses for all the types of colorblindness. So yes color blindness can work that way, this way and any way. Being blind or deaf is also the same, it's a large spectrum.

After seeing both of these challenge videos I'd be interested to see you do a monochrome challenge using just black and white paints. Not sure which figures would be best suited for this, but I have a feeling it would end up looking super spooky and cool.

Do one in color blind mode, with someone choosing paints and putting them in clean dropper bottles, no labels on them, and randomly switched around, so you wouldn't know what goes where.

I've seen people attempt this before, but they misunderstand that the values you see through the tinted glasses are not the same as the true values/contrasts of what normal vision has. Think of it like an RGB image in photoshop. Red glasses give you an optical version of a "rec channel". Everything except for the red light frequency gets absorbed. If you turn this red image into black/white, it will not the same as a gray created accounting for all 3 channels (Red, green and blue together). Similarly, if you had Green or Blue glasses, what you'll see through them as values will be completely different too.

Good video idea, paint miniatures on divert with a friend, but every 10 minutes or so you switch, until the miniature is done

So there's a camera that shows the world through uv light i think it would be cool to see a 2 way comparison video where you paint the same minis with the same pallets but use uv vision first (because you have experience with the colorblind) and then the colorblind 2nd but you can't look at them in the normal spectrum until you've painted both. Or even as many visual filters as you can think of using the same pallet.

No matter what the result will be, it will most likely be 100x cooler and better than if i painted myself xD Really keen on getting Age of SIgmar Seraphon figures, because lizardmen are my fav warhammer fantasy faction, but im scared of painting bad :C

I thought the third one was great. The skin cloak needs to be different and the turquoise tree needs to be turned down, but the rest of it only needs minor tweaking.

I'm curious to see this done with different colour filters. Paint the same miniature with different filters, red, blue, and yellow, with your pallet swapped and colour locations randomized each time.

The yellow face to me looked like the character was looking at a pile of gold coins like the inside of the briefcase from pulp fiction. I think the colors are all interesting and good you just need to develop a story around them to make some fun lore :D

The goblin looks great!, then the purple armor on the final one with the red head is phenomenal. Could it have looked better with more time sure! Maybe next time you could do it in shorter chunks of 30ish minutes and walk in the other room while resting your eyes for another 30 minutes. I liked the categories idea!

You should try to find green glasses. The human eye is more sensitive to green so you will have less eye strain and you should be able to see more easily small differences in colors

Hey Emil, first off, love your videos! Secondly, in golf there's a thing called a one club challenge: they are allowed to only use one club on all holes. So, why don't you do the same with one brush? Use only one brush for a miniature. You could use another brush on another miniature etc. and find out which brush suits you best. How creative can you get with difficult brushes to still make it a beautiful model? I hope you find some inspiration from this idea. Kind regards!!

Fails???? Seriously ? ?? 1. The gobbo with warpaint was fierce 2. The skintone makes it look like a lauprechaun or some mystical North or Germanic dwarves. Really good paint scheme imo 3. Love the blue tree. And the purple armour, feels like some evil soul steele 3/3 nailed. Good job

Ok further idea. Do you have any mates who are avid hunters or in the military? see if you can borrow some NVGs, preferably ones with a grey image. It'd be interesting to see how this concept would work out differently. Plus you painting in a dark room like some kind of mythical master be pretty funny concept.

Use the glasses just to do highlights when you're painting normally. My friend who is color blind kills it at highlights. Just have to tell him what color he's working with.
