I love the way you base actions on the underlying psychology of the artists. It answers so many doubts and setbacks. And then it encourages me. You candour in disclosing your own doubts is so refreshing - and brave of you. Thank you.
How beautiful your colors flow. The color combination is beautiful. Your lesson has taught me to just play with my colors to get the right combinations so I don’t make mud. Another thing I started doing is practicing on my arches paper instead of using student grade. Thank you Angela
I was just having a mental struggle about color theory when you started describing how you were going to make green and it was so helpful to hear how you make those decisions. You really take the overwhelming factor out of a topic and make it so understandable. Thanks Angela now on to part 2!
Hi Angela, I love your channel, btw how to overcome worry in this matter, there are some affirmations that people can say and learn: 1. I let my self to make mistake and learn from it 2. I let go the idea of what is wrong and what is right, and learn to accept what is 3. I let go the idea of permanent mistake, there is no such a thing. I make mistake, embrace it, and getting better everyday. Keep happy painting Angela
Quick note about the plastic brush caps - some of the larger sizes can be used as sketching pencils caps to protect the graphite leads in our sketching bags.
Hi Angela! As I have been teaching myself water color, I am 2 mos into my second year and definitely still very much a noob, and want to thank you for saying that the way I am learning about overworking, and working a painting through till it screams, lol, that in many ways, I am likely doing it right. No masterpieces, but a small number of paintings I like and feel connected to. Overworking an area is not the end of the painting. I use that expensive paper all the way up and continue to glean all else I can learn in continuing. I enjoy your channel most now, and I am hoping to take some of your courses in the future!
Love that palette and your tutorial...those brushes are lovely...I have to use my acrylic brushes that I've had for years, but I've always took great care of them
Love your watercolor flowers. Always loose and beautiful. Love the way your paper responds especially on your Qors watercolor demo flowers. What kind of paper do you recommend? Thank you for all your expertise.
So beautifully played Angela. But I am writing from 2020 and am so sad manganese blue not made anymore. Is there a comparable alternate (which granulates)?
About the yellow green - you mentioned "transparent yellow green" AND Phthalo yellow green. . . . which one is it? Is this Daniel Smith? Thanks for all you do!
Angela I entered the giveaway but every time I try to click your Instagram acct it says “not found”. I did take all of the other steps successfully. Thanks again for sharing your talent with all,of us. Love that palette!
Except when you’re soaking off the gum arabic on brand new brushes. And Angela clarified it was for that reason. Also she soaked them sooo briefly. She’s making them workable, not dunking them through laziness overnight and bending the points. I think we can trust her expertise, and listen to her explanations.
Roslyngal I run mine under water and can get the sizing off without getting the wood part wet. But I don’t get my brushes for free...even 1 min under water can create the wood to swell-once it swells it loosens from the wood handle and rocks. I’ve been painting 15 years and have series 7 and Davinci series 35 , some Escoda sable-these brushes are the jewels of watercolor painting and I would never leave the brushes in water even for a second.
