That wolf is incredible, I thought it was a photo. I just can’t get over the fact that this is pastels, it’s the best drawing of a wolf I’ve ever seen

Your Patreon has got to be the BEST on that site. It's so great. On another note, this panpastel looks a lot like oil painting the way you block it in. I've been interested in oil painting for a long time, so I bet this will help me with that pursuit as well.

I am so happy I found this channel on youtube. Exactly what I was looking for. Finally an artist at a really amazing level using my favorite art medium - the pastell - in realistic drawings. I'm curious - have you ever used color pencils. I am new to drawing in color. I picked up color pencils a few months ago and I was very disappointed. It's so slow and I don't like the way you need to press hard to burnish the layers together. I don't have the patience for them. :-) Pastel pencils looks like it would much better suited for me. Just wondering what you like most about pastels. Thanks.

I was wondering what is the difference between using Neupastels and Conte pastels? Do they not work the same way on top of the panpastels?

Wow what an amazing drawing i love it . But I have a question what's the difference between pastel color and pencil colors which kind is better to draw with in other words which of these two is easier to use I have never used any of them I love to sketch I used charcoal pencil and grifit pencils I would like to take an other step and start drawing in color

TRANSMETAL23 pastels are much easier to put light over dark and also blend. Coloured pencils as better for super fine detail. Each has pros and cons. I find pastels much easier.

I know you’ve done other videos on using PanPastels, and I’ve joined your Patreon channel. I have a large collection of PanPastels, and I’m having a difficult using them. (I’m also using Pastelmat.) I can’t seem to figure out how much PanPastel to put on my sponge. It seems like I get a hard dark spot that I can’t blend out. It might be because I’ve been using one of the small tools, and I notice you have a larger, pointed tool.

you know to do the under drawing - I am using the sofftt tools that are more like a finger shaped sponge - they last a LOT longer and cover better than the small tools - you will see me using them on my more recent patreon videos, also check out the cougar on patreon I do a lot with pans on that one

What makes the pan pastels different? I mean, have you ever compared them to regular soft pastels? Are they greasy? Is it the way they are compressed into the pans that makes them different? Do they have a waxy binder? I haven't ever used them but I do want to try them its just that I don't know why they'd be any better than a regular soft pastel. Thanks.

You can mix the Pan pastels like traditional paint mixing due to the medium used in Pan Pastels. I have not seen any other pastels where you can mix them on a palette to get the exact color you want and then apply to the artwork surface.

Thank You. But, this binder it seems to work with pastel pencils but does the binder in the pan pastels ever build up like the waxy blooms you get with Prismacolor pencils? I know those are colored pencils and not pastels. These pans are tempting. I guess I'll just have to try a few colors for myself.

Morgan, i recently started using pastelmat along with carbothellos and pan pastels. But for some reason the pastel doesnt stay on the paper, it becomes all grainy and doesnt really stay on the paper. But i dont see it happen on your papers...Why is that?
