I think the last waterfall is the most whimsical. All the leaves connecting the pages make it a perfect whole. 💚💛 Looking forward to see what comes next.
the end result is amazing !!! i love the white staircase and the end waterfall, i’ve never seen actual paintings in accordion sketchbooks so it’s so cool to see how you can use it
Beautiful!! I wish there was a garden/park environment similar to Kew Gardens in my city, what a gorgeous spot to go and paint!! The entire sketchbook is gorgeous, I love how you’ve transitioned from page to page throughout. I have a hard time choosing between the waterfalls and the pagoda for my fave. I appreciate your thoughts on the Etchr gouache brushes. I prefer brushes on the stiffer side, like the Escoda Prado or Princeton Heritage. I’ve wondered how gouache-specific brushes would compare. Have a great week!
Oh wow that’s great how your paintings flow with creativity in n the accordion sketchbook. I love how it looks & turned out. I think that I like the staircases and the Pagoda the best. I could get lost in the gardens for weeks on end. They’re so beautiful. Thanks for sharing this wonderful fun trip to the gardens with us. Have a great week ahead & I am mending & recovering ❤️🩹 well. 8 more days before my second follow up appointment for my scars & stitches.
How gorgeous the gardens are! It reminds me of Longwood Gardens in Pennsylvania! This is making me want to head to the Denver Botanic Gardens to paint! You're amazing!! 🤗🤩❤️👍😎
That is SO true that when I started into art the way I see things totally changed. I even look at certain gorgeous colors in nature and try to figure out what color I would choose to paint it! (Like that's yellow ochre in that moss!) 🤗🤗🤗
Love how you joined the images together. And I love Kew but only ever managed to do a few quick sketches. I would love to go alone sometime and draw for myself ❤
Beautiful!! I have always wanted to visit London, but even moreso now that you have showed us some of the most amazing places, like these gardens. ❤ I love all of the paintings that you did, but can't decide among the first staircase, the first waterfall, or the last waterfall as favorite. They are each quite lovely and inspiring. Made many screenshots during this video to give some of my favorite images a go. Thank you for this, and for all that you do for us. Love you!! ❤❤❤❤❤
I went to Kew Gardens in the summer, but I didn’t know there was an art gallery. I took so much pictures. Thank you for sharing. Love the stairway you painted.
I love the entire painting - the staircases are amazing but so are the pagoda and waterfalls! I love how many different colors of green you achieved! The entire painting is so interesting. Beautiful work!!
I'm a sucker for such cute little waterfalls. You captured them nicely! The heat in those places can be a bit much, but I actually quite like it. I went to a butterfly garden and a place that is called "De orchideenhoeve". If you're ever in the Netherlands and you love orchids and butterflies and such, definitely visit that last one, it is a fascinating place. Thank you for the qouache tips and the inspiration for the accordion sketchbook. PS. you might have mentioned it was hot a couple times, but I would be straight up hammered if you'd asked us to take a shot every time you said "to be perfectly honest" It just made me chuckle to think about. Looking forward to your next video, have a lovely week.
This is my fav piece of yours the sketchbook accordian looks so good with your art .this is definitely a time piece .the finger and everything .wow wow .again you give amazing derailed tips that I love .welldone you ✌️🌻💕
Lovely video, thanks for sharing so much of your process. I think my favourite part of your painting(s) is the foliage. I love the colours and how you made them look bold and cohesive with just a few brush strokes
Ooh, we went to Kew Gardens when we visited London in early June and just yesterday I was telling my sister she must visit it if she ever goes to London. And then I come home and see this video. 😁 I absolutely love how you paint and how you tied all the paintings together, you're making me want to try out gouache! Honestly I don't know if I can choose only one. 😅 Maybe the last waterfall, but I also love how the first paintings look all together, like a magic jungle of stairs and waterfalls. (And greetings from Greece! 😀 )
I really enjoy your videos and completely agree that when I started painting I saw everything through completely different eyes. I am always thinking how beautiful this is and now can I paint this? I started in watercolor but after finding Sarah Burns’ channel I have fallen in love with painting with gouache!
@@SketchesnScrubs I want to go again now since seeing your post - We are going to Turkey on Saturday for a burst of warmth and Sun before winter comes - We haven't flown since 2017 (I hate winter!) - I looked up it only takes an hour and a half to get there (less with my husband's driving!) from Canterbury so something to look forward too when we come home - might even bump into you there! Did you climb the terrifyingly high outside walk?
Yes…I have some other brands, but W&N Designer Gouache is my fave…Holbein is a close second. But the premium brands are pricey, so I build my sets a bit at a time. I started with WN primaries and built up from there. Thanks for this beautiful tour! 🙏
I love lots of parts, how the shrubbery blends from one view to another, but I love the way you added the pagoda, it turned out really well, with the perspective and the way you used shapes and colour to show the sunlight
did you forget to put in the info in the description or does it just not show up for me? i love the way you connected the paintings with the plants! my favourite piece is the pagoda :) the contrast of the colours is really nice against the blue sky and all the greenery
