Painting on a Teabag - being ressourceful during corona and appretiation for all the hard workers

During this difficult times it only seems right to be ressourceful and use whatever we have for art. That was the main reason to paint on used teabags. So have a tea yourself and enjoy some art.

I truly love both the art and the monologue about how hard medical workers worked during covid. But I do have a question. What do you do with your art after it’s done? Do you frame it, sell it or what? 😊

Thank you very much! I do everything really. It depens a little on the art itself. Some things I have displayed in my apartment, some I have sold, some I storage still and some get cut up and used for swatches on the back. Some of the paintings I show are in sketchbooks, so they go on the shelf. From smaller pieces I make postcards/greeting cards and send them to friends. And I swap art and gift it to people I like and I know would appreciate it. I'm not precious about the things I make or most things in my life really. So if they can be of use and make people happy, that's good enough for me. :) Hope this helps and have a great day!

I agree! I actually caught it just this winter before Christmas and spend the holiday alone to not spread. Definitely not a fun time, but it's good to remember. We get through it. :)

The "problem" with healthcare workers is that most of them really care about what they do, thus are less likely to strike/quit/such things. I do think that's usually a good thing, but there's no pressure for those in charge to raise their pay that way. And with the "low skill" jobs, it tends to be more likely they will stand up for that stuff, however they are pretty easy to replace. Pay rates are an absolute mess, and it's so unfair how it goes.

It is unfair. Just because someone feels dutiful in their job or has no other options for work, it's just not a reason to abuse those workers. There are just so many things going wrong.

Aaah I was wondering how well you got the look on your Instagram post and didn't realise that it was an actual tea bag XD And the Amazon story... Since Switzerland is basically an island and nothing ships to us (not even Amazon) It wasn't too hard to boycott Amazon for exactly that reason. I really hope something will change for the employees but it's just such a u.s. cooperate system that clearly gets misused eventough it's so important. I myself have learned to contact local shops for help and services. Wether thats the local craft shop or garden center. People are trying to help each other and it's amazing to see what's possible :)

I wish I could paint such realistic teabags :D but yeah... it's a real one. :) Good job on boycoting Amazon! I try to get most things from local shops (like German books from a tiny store in the town), but some things are impossible to get in a very rural area or I would have to drive far to get them. Like art supplies... so I order those things online. Where I can, I do shop small and local. :) (At least my veggies all come from around 100km from here.) Have a great day! :)

What a fun idea, Lana! I agree so much with you on all the worker politics. Janitors and cleaning workers too. So many low payed jobs with bad working conditions are the ones pulling the world's weight. I always felt this, but tbh I welcome a debate after all this with hopefully enough people smarter by the experience, that we can win a vote for better conditions for essential workers. I loved the Dante video bomb too. He is just so dapper! I love his tiny white spots on the paws. I am just overall in love with him. Such a beautiful, sleek boi!

Thanks! :D Dante says hi. Btw, he can high five too :D The workers, which are now "essential" were always essential, this ist just when people realize it. Everybody should be paid fairly and everyone should have enough to be able to live from their work. I hope this is something that is going to change. There is more teabag art comming :D because why leave it at one, right? :D

Aaah thank you so much I really really love ❤️ the use of the used teabag that you’ve made. It really really stunning and gorgeous too. And so is your gorgeous gorgeous dog, he’s so cute and beautiful too. I really agree with you, that there are really loads and loads of people who are really really putting their lives on the line for all of us. In the hospital’s porters, cleaners, amongst many others who are never given praise for what they do day in and day out. And supermarket staff also putting themselves in harms way, police, firemen. None of these people are mentioned in the articles that praise others. Please stay safe and well too xxx Mags

Hi Mags thank you so much for your wonderful comment. I can't agree more! There are many people putting their lives at risk and working daily so hard just to keep everyone safe and fed. It's not honoured nearly enough (and I assume it's the case for most countries). Dante (the dog) says many thanks :D he aspires to stay cute and an absolutely good dog. :D When it comes to the teabag paintings, there is a second one and it's also on the channel. Dante happy tail! I think many people will have a greater appreciation for essential workers. I hope it translates to better conditions. Also better conditions for medical personnel, especially nurses and interns. And I love your tea. I’d sit down to drink and then paint tea with you ☺️
