Sit back, relax and watch (while not getting disturbed by flies) as I paint on the side of the road in Cadell South Australia plein air. Another fabulous job! You’re right, sand is difficult, but I think you did a great job, particularly up on the dunes. Flies in formation? Perhaps it was a bit too much sun! 😊😊 ❤❤

OMG...when you said you were just going to sit on the ground, ANTS were the first things I thought of!! I'm an en plein painter too. Oil. So will go up to mt lofty today to see your works

There's a lot to like in this video, as always, like learning there's an already-mixed paint color to match the dirt in the Outback. For particularly sketchy locations, maybe you could look into a buddy system? So, I watched the entire run of "McLeod's Daughters" a few years ago and heard the word "Ute" for the first time. I surmised it means the same as a pickup truck or an SUV, as opposed to "city" vehicles like cars and vans. Am I right about what Ute means? From WAY afar, I admire your dedication to plein air. If it had been me, I think I would have tagged out at the sight of all those ants swarming around the palette. Amazing work on the painting, especially given all the distractions.

Ah hahaha yeah I thought the paint colour would match actually I still had to mix it with burnt sienna, cad red and white because it's quite a transparent kind of yellow colour the label matches but that's all. Buddy system is probably a good idea because you are right safety in numbers.... But I have no one to go with and I usually only find out the location is sketchy after I've been there a while 😂 yeah a ute is like a pick up truck the car with the tray at the back, very different from an SUV though, I didn't realise it's not a term used world wide, people use them everywhere in Australia though not just the countryside. The ants were only tiny but some of them ended up mixed into my paint. 😂 I still can't believe they were eating my paint. Thank you so much and as usual thank you for such a great, in depth comment 😊

I can just see those flies…your description was hilarious…and made me laugh out loud.🤣 Very scary about the guy trying to open your door…do you have pepper spray or an alarm you can set off…or something protective…now I really worry about your safety. Your painting is amazing…great composition too. You put a lot of time into it…with great results. I love watching you paint and appreciate your talking through the process as it helps me think through how I paint (in watercolors). Thank you for sharing.😊

Yeah actually I was really looked after that night I met a really lovely couple around 70 who were travelling and parked by the river I had parked at for the night and they gave me an alarm that makes a heck of a noise because they were worried about me travelling solo. Thank you so much! 😊
